Is it because of the major cliffhanger? Or because it was bad? I'm thinking about reading it next, but I've been avoiding Mortal Instruments #4 because of the same cliffhanging reason... scared of them lol.

I just finished Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris . Loved it, can't wait for the next one *sighs*

I got about 1/3 of the way thru City of Fallen Angels and put it down because I don't think I can handle the end!lol I waited forever for that dang book to come out and then I start hearing about this big cliffhanger, and I could tell the book was taking a dark turn, and I was like NO WAY! Maybe I'll wait till all three are out!

Oh what I forgot to say: The book splitting is only with BDB. LOTO sometimes has many bad translations - but they're good to read (and not splitted). DH... dunno - still waiting for more. Need to buy all books from 9-.... 20? in english. They seem to need need centuries to translate and publish in german *sigh*

City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare BIG cliffhanger. Seriously wait til the next one is out...or maybe the one after that. I wish I hadn't read it.

As far as Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill . Not really a cliffhanger...more of complete and utter heartbreak. :( I don't even want to read the next one.

I'm starting up Dead Reckoning (Sookie Stackhouse, #11) by Charlaine Harris before I pass out. I need happy thoughts in my head. Please tell me I can get happy thoughts from it!

I'm well invested in LOTU, Breed and Highlander. Still have not started on IAD but heard many great things about it. Definitely a must read. I'd hit Highlander first bc it's pretty much completed unless Moning changed her heart and endow us more of her talent. I'd read anything from Moning.

Yes you have to read in order as each book builds up the back story.

I really like the Highlander series! I wasn't too sure about the heroine in the first one, but then I felt like they got easier to relate to. And the Scottish brogue got easier to understand. Now sometimes I catch myself thinking a thought in my head in brogue- for reals... that can't be good.

I did just recently find out that my ancestors are Highlanders, there was a castle that was in the family line until 1940 or so when it was auctioned off and bought by the Egyptian man who owns Harrod's dept stores in England. Weird! Our branch of that family tree ended with my great grandmother who had only daughters. We're the Ross clan.

message 12482: by Alisa (new)

Alisa (alisakayco) | 110 comments Okay, I just finished Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill . So, it's not a cliffhanger really, but it makes you ache for the next book in a big way. I'm just... heartbroken. Though I think something will happen, like a Karen Moning type thing - gone, but not gone. Anywhoo, I DEFINITELY don't want to read City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare if the cliffhanger is much worse.

I love reading books that are a part of a series. I love the continuation of characters and the storyline and whatnot. But I really hate the waiting between each book. Can they not just write the whole thing and then just release them about a month apart? Lol.

I think I'm going to skip Mortal Instruments #4 AGAIN and go on to The Restorer (The Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens for now. I read the first 100 pages of Divergent and it was good, I may read that next too. I'm just really avoiding City of Fallen Angels right now lol.

message 12483: by Alisa (new)

Alisa (alisakayco) | 110 comments Oh, and with Dead Reckoning, major things happen. I'm not happy about how it played out, BUT I'm glad major things happened so at least the story is really going somewhere. I think she's getting ready for the end of the series and wrapping up loose ends. So for those who were disappointed about the last book sort of being a "filler" book, a book that didn't really add/take-away from the series, I think you will like this book.

I keep avoiding COFA also! I started reading and just can't bring myself to finish! I also think Chicagoland Vamps will be a shadow fever situation...Chloe Neill made a comment on her blog that made me think that to be true! I haven't read it yet, but I didn't want to go forward if it was going to be a horible ending, but I think I will go ahead and give it a try:)

Magda - Just so you know the Fever books are to be read like one big book. There is Romance and a HEA but you have to read all of them. I loved them, but you have to decide if that is worth it for you. There are 5 books I believe. Check out Moning Maniacs on goodreads.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments To my friends who are holding off reading City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare bc of the cliffhanger, it's still an amazing book. It transitioned seamlessly from the first 3 books and the cliffhanger falls in line with Jace & Clary's almost "relationship" (I don't want to spoil anyone's ideal), nothing like the FEVER cliffhanger, I don't think. Yes, City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare was the apex of the triology, everything came together and then some, but to get more of Jace and Clary, after 2 yrs, I couldn't wait any longer. It's like this 4th book is the beginning, the set-up for the next triology. I can see why some fans were disappointed bc you'd expect the same intensity to continue...but that was Valentine's erra. This is Jace & Clary's coming together as the move forward yet having their past just a breath away...
