message 12353: by Julianne (new)

Julianne | 9 comments I just finished afterlife by Claudia Gray and was very dissapointed. The ending was terrible and the book itself was not that great. Characters that had started to develop were either killed off with no real lead up or like the main character Lucas just had no substance in this book. It was very sad to see the series that began so well to just end so badly. Very poor Miss Gray.

Magda | 558 comments Hope you enjoy Lover Unleashed. It wasn't my favorite of the series but I always enjoy books from the Warden.

Currently reading Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong .
I tried reading it before but I couldn't make it past the 1st couple of pages, maybe I wasn't in the mood because it doesn't seem too bad.

It took me a while to get into Bitten as well Magda. i couldn't get past the 1st person writing. although, it was still a good read. i bought the next three in the series but haven't read them yet. hope u like it this time around.

message 12367: by Bemidji (new)

Bemidji (ehleighen) | 39 comments this morning I started The Reckoning (Darkest Powers, #3) by Kelley Armstrong . in all 3 books, it seems like a relationship is gonna happen between Chloe and Simon, however, maybe it's just me, but I want her to be with Derek! but I like big muscled dark guys. I'm hoping, but the hand holding between simon and chloe makes me think I won't get what I want.

I've read most of this series and thought it was good (maybe not great but good). Each book has a different main character but you see the same ones throughout the whole series. It's worth the read once you get into them.

message 12372: by Audrey (last edited Apr 29, 2011 08:53AM) (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) I am currently reading City of the Snakes (The City Trilogy, #3) by Darren Shan . I didn't think I would like this trilogy, but a friend told me to give it try. I was very surprised at how quickly it sucked me into the story and wanting to find out what happened next. This book, so far, is living up to the first 2 books. It is killing me to not peek ahead in the book! LOL

ahh, you're scaring me - I was gonna read this book next. I was disappointed the 3rd book didn't end happily ever after so was looking forward to Afterlife. I guess Claudia Gray is like Alyson Noel, the series starts off sooo good and then becomes a disappointment. :-(

Hi Lyndsey! I love the series. It starts with Magic Lost, Trouble Found. The heroine, Raine is smart, self reliant and likeable. It's pretty action packed and there are a lot of good supporting characters. There is no sex in the book just some smoldering looks and building tension between Raine and her hero Michael. The rest of the series has been strong too, so far. I really enjoyed it and I hope you will too!

message 12379: by Tamran (new)

Tamran | 5 comments I am reading When Blood Calls (The Shadow Keepers, #1) by J.K. Beck I just started it and I'm only on chapter 10 and I'm not bored. I can't say I'm overly excited either. But that isn't a bad thing in my eyes. When you have a first in a series they do have to build up to it and sometimes it takes longer. I will continue as I do feel the "oh I need to know what happens next" is upon me.

Denise, don't even go there with " short attention span". I continue bc I felt I invested enough time to Spider AND I want to see her moving on with Owen. I constantly need to remind myself...I'm not senile, I'm not senile...
