Definitely stick with it. It's my favorite paranormal romance series of all time. Honestly, I thought the first two books were just meh.... However, the third book was REALLY good and I enjoyed the series immsensly from that point on.

I second all of that!!!! It took awhile to warm up but when it does....Whew they are amazing!

message 12054: by Shellbelle (new)

Shellbelle Been trying to read City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare but having a hard time because I know it ends in cliffhanger! Think I'll take a break and try Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione Also listening to Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate in the car, and I'm loving it, I find myself sitting in the car when I get to where I'm going!

Jeanine, it's hard to give enough credit to such an epic of a love story btwn Jamie and Claire that spaned over 200 yrs. Claire from 1940's went back in time 1740's thru the Stone Hedge. Thru the lengthy writings, you get so engrossed and enthralled with the characters, the storyline, the agonies, pains, honor and love...an epic not to be missed.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I'm so enjoying, Crown of Crystal Flame (Tairen Soul, #5) by C.L. Wilson , through lots, lots and lots of tears. The other day, I can hide my tears behind the sweat while working out on the elliptical. Today, 2pm tearing up on our way to Costco, seriously, I blamed it on alergies, teary eyes & runny nose, lol. It was like this everytime I took up the book, hmmm, PMS'g???? nah... it's just such a well written, beautiful plots and honorable sacrifices. Later.

i will. i liked the first in the series. it's just that the lead characters' relationship seems unlikely. or maybe i just don't like Emma's vulnerability. although i'm not far enough to see why she behaves the way she does. i'm just used to independent strong female leads.

Those were tears well worth shedding! The momentums built from the first 4 books crest over onto this 5th book. I'm saving the last 100 pgs for tonight when it's nice and quiet. It's so so good and will read again, and cry like a baby again and again.

It was AWESOME! I don't normally read books that lean towards the sci-fi genre but this has been an awesome series. It's Men in Black meets Rachel Morgan... I wasn't going to read this but it got such good reviews in the blogs I track that I had to give it a chance. It was definitely worth it and I will be re-reading this series again in the future!

If you go to Barnes & Noble's website
The Blood That Bonds by Christopher Buecheler is a free nookbook...if you don't have a nook compatible reader you can download the nook for pc program and read it on there...that way you don't have to spend the money on it.

I got really bored with the book...they kept going into all the backstories...and it seemed like forever and there was no happy ending...and I didn't like the segue into the next book...it made me think very little of the main character, Two.

Everything's slow after BDB read, but of course, you knew that. Wait for the BDB afterglow die out or you're just wasting another good read.

I agree you have to wait for the BDB glow to wear off. I read something totally different after that. I was going to read Darkest Secret but my great GR friends told me to read something else first and then go back. It really did help. I enjoyed DS much better. I really loved the book.

message 12097: by McKenzie (last edited Apr 12, 2011 06:01PM) (new)

McKenzie | 57 comments Just finished reading Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh and I am so sad to admit that I did not enjoy this very much. Actually, it was an enormous let down. I have heard so much good things about her. Her Psy-Changlings series is really popular with fans of this genre. My boyfriend's mom, who is a huge reader of paranormal romance, is also into this series. Every series she has recommended me I have loved. I bought all of her books that are out for this series and the Guild Hunters series at the Borders sale.
The story left me very confused at points. The whole PsyNet thing left me confused. She didn't explain it very well. It's like Singh understood the concept well in her own mind but didn't explain it enough for her readers to get the big picture. Also, I thought there were a lot of contradictions with the Psy culture.
Usually I like really alpha males who are possessive and dominant. However, Lucas was someone I could not really make myself like. He seemed flat, like a cookie cutter type character.

I was REALLY hoping to like this book.I saw it got great reviews. If it stays consistant, I am afraid I won't like the rest. I just hope she explains the whole PsyNet thing in a better fashion.

Anyways, I am starting Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling, #2) by Nalini Singh next. I hope I like it better.
