I'm liking it so far but not loving it. Am hoping my expectations weren't too high!"

The first one starts a little slow but they definitely get good in the 2nd and 3rd book.

I'm with you completely on the Barrons withdrawal. I think I have the perfect cocktail (that really wasn't a pun...) to recover. It took some Adam, Eric, Raphael and Ilya for me to get over it! He's a tough guy to chase away.

Ana (anacnunes) I'm reading Kiss of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #1) by Lara Adrian . Unfortunetly, I'm not loving it, but it's mildly enjoyable.

Keep it up Ana C.! The first book was definitely not the best. Once you get to the third, you will be hooked. It sets up an interesting world that if you loved/liked the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward, you will find yourself loving the Midnight Breed warriors as well.

I ended up buying the entire set and have gone back to re-read certain parts. The men are so troubled and the women ground them. How could I not love that scenario?

Trust me, keep reading, you will not be disappointed. If you are, you can blame me ;)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I loved the first book, but that's just me. :)

Hi Mitabird! I was hesitant to read the IAD series, but I finished A Hunger Like No Other at the beginning of January and I really enjoyed it. The second installment isn't available in my library as someone has checked it out, so I am waiting patiently. It is definitely worth a library rental.

Hi Vanessa,

Sorry bout delayed reply to your question. It has some similarities to BDB in the sense that J.R. Ward has maintained her usual writing style (i.e. splitting the storyline between multiple characters etc). However this series is based more on the war between angels & demons. It is set in Caldwell also, and there are brief mentions on BDB related places & sometimes a character bumps into someone however those are pretty few & far between...

I am about half way through 'Crave' and loving it. I think if you enjoy Ward's writing style and work then you should enjoy this also :)

Oh I'm pretty attracted to funny AND sexy series right now. Anyone got any suggestions? I've already finished off the following: What A Dragon Should Know SUPER Edition and all the other shifter books by this author, all the Night Huntress novels. Actually just funny (laugh-out-loud) series would be great! (Dresden Files and the Discworld series are some of my favorite!)

Oooh, time to head home!

message 10850: by Amanda (new)

Amanda | 1 comments I just finished the BDB series. I really enjoyed the first three books, couldn't wait to finish the series. Then I got to Butch's story, blah. V's was alright and then downhill again, Phurry's story was horrible. It seemed she got wrapped up in the war between the vampires and the lessers. I ended up a little disappointed. Especially the last book, there was no wrap up, or end to the whole story.
