Moning is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is smooth, smart, witty and touching. Glad you're starting with the first book and enjoyed it. All I can say is enjoy and take it slowly because when it's done...it's done, but the storylines and characters stay forever.

I liked the Shifter series too. Faythe did do a lot of growing up further into the series. Glad the last book is finally out. Lol, when I heard about the series and read it, I still had 4 months to wait before the final book in the series, Alpha, was released. I went and and bought it the day it came out. Am sooooo glad she chose the man she did (don't want to give it away) for her mate. I figured she would, but had to be sure. ;)

I did end up liking Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent for the most part and will definitely read the next book in the series. I also found Mac annoying in the first Fever book, but liked the story enough to read the second book, and VERY glad I did. Fever is one of my favorite urban fantasy series. Mac grows and changes quite a bit throughout the series.

Your point about Mac in book 1 of Fever is so true. I compare Mac and Faythe a lot. I'm always shocked when people say they had no problems with Mac but found Faythe to be annoying - yet they go through almost identical transformations. In fact, I was more annoyed with Mac in book 1 than I was with Faythe in book 1. Faythe was selfish (for good reason though, she went out in the world to find herself because she was still growing up) but never shallow like Mac was.

I loved the Shifters series as much as I loved Fever. They're both great reads for completely different reasons.

LOL...Maybe 'hate' is a strong word. Read a year ago as a BOM for one of my GR groups, and I barely finished it. Weren't you annoyed with all the 'clothes' talk even while they are in danger? Grrr...
