I also thought Crave was the better book too. I didn't get into Covet all that much.

Joyce, don't give up on Monere series bc of the sex, the storyline and plots are amazing. I'm patiently waiting for the next book. I heard Wolves of Mercy Falls series is awesome but the cliffhanger is really bad.

Steph, I haven't read Lucinda yet but I will. I love her brother from the very beginning.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I thoroughly enjoyed, Deep Kiss of Winter (Includes Immortals After Dark, #8; Alien Huntress, #5) by Kresley Cole . Is it me or this series is hotter the LOTU by Gena?

Next, need my J. Frost writing from Haunted by Your Touch by Jeaniene Frost . Then I get to start IAD series, The Warlord Wants Forever (Immortals After Dark, #1) by Kresley Cole .

Let me know what you think about Viking Warrior. I just got/read it as an e-book on my computer. I was disappointed in it. It's not the worst book I've ever read but certainly not one of the better ones either. It was just ok. Not worth the purchase in my opinion.

Crazy4more,
The cliffhanger is null and void in the first one but I heard the same about the second in the series so I am going to wait closer to the release of the third book to start the second (if that makes sense). I do have to agree that the story is really good.
As far as Mona Lisa, its been sitting on my shelf for so long that I decided to finally try it.

Tracy T. | 252 comments I finished The Accidental Werewolf (Accidental Friends, #1) by Dakota Cassidy The Flame (Sons of Destiny, #7) by Jean Johnson , which were both just okay. I'm now reading Nightwalker (Dark Days, #1) by Jocelynn Drake , which is pretty good, but a little confusing, so far.

Jen ~The dreamer~ | 649 comments I loved the Vampire Academy books, Crissa. Hope you do too!! Richelle Mead has a couple adult series that I loved too! The Succubus (Georgina Kincaid series) and the Dark Swan series. Mead is one of my favorite authors.

message 9819: by MsBeaglely (new)

MsBeaglely | 118 comments Finally finished White Witch, Black Curse (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #7) by Kim Harrison . Took me almost a month to finish it because it was so depressing. I don't think anything positive happened to Rachel through out the entire book.

I think I'm going to read Blameless (The Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger next. I hope it is as good as the first two books.

message 9822: by Karma (new)

Karma I have read the first 2 in the Fever series and decided to wait on #3 because everyone keeps mentioning the horrible cliffhanger. I didn't realize Fever followed the Highlanders, so I'm going to go ahead and read those. My only complaint...I wish the Fever series had more romance. Is the Highlander series also lacking romance?

message 9823: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) Katie - the Highlander series is paranormal romance. Each book focuses on a different couple and has lots of romance and sex.

message 9824: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments Here is what Karen Moning said in the FAQ about the Fever Series (well a very small part of what she said):

So what is Darkfever?

It's the first installment of a story told over the course of five novels that is a romance, and a fantasy, and a mystery and even part thriller.

Is there sex in my Fever series? Absolutely. Is there romance? Definitely. Does it all happen in the first book? No. It happens when it's time.

Rebecca (bexsi) Hi guys, I just want to say this is my fave group on GR, but I am thinking about leaving GR altogether. I joind a group that I thought was a group for paranormal genre books for adults by that I mean not YA books. I was disgusted by what I saw, pornographic pictures not just of men and women which I would not have a problem with, I would have left the group and that would be the end of the matter, but I saw some things I can only describe as sick, perverse and illegal... graphic sexual animal abuse. I have sent an e-mail to the GR team but if I dont have a reply in the next few days I will delete my account here and not return. So THANKYOU all for this wonderful group.

She's the same narrator as the Anita Blake books, so that's probably why you feel it is similar. I love her voice, and she is the main reason I was able to finish this book. If I was reading it, I would have probably given up.

For me, this book is a major information dump, but I stuck with it. The 2nd book is better (again I got it in audio), and I heard it continues to get better.

There are two narrators for the Anita Blake books: Christine Holloway and Kimberly Alexis. I don't have a list of which books are narrated by who. I'm partial to Holloway...not really a fan of Kimberly Alexis.

So, listen to a sample first and see if you like the narrator.

Aloha Hi, I am the moderator for the group, Recommendations for Hot and Steamy PNR Series that Rebecca had a complaint about. This is in response to Rebecca's complaint about our group. She just joined last night and have no idea what our group is about or the reason why we post some things. We are a great group of people with a terrific sense of humor. We had a strong warning posted to people before they join the group:

Discussion of your favorite hot and steamy Paranormal Romance books. THERE WILL BE EXPLICIT DISCUSSIONS AND CONTENT THAT ARE NOT FOR THE UNDERAGE OR THE EASILY OFFENDED. PLEASE READ THE RULES BELOW BEFORE REQUESTING MEMBERSHIP. If you do not post your age on your profile, group membership may be delayed. If no age is posted and you block messages, group membership will be denied.

We also have within our group a section labeled: Xtreme Pics - Not for the faint of heart - Must be 21+.

This section is to stimulate discussions of any alternative lifestyles. The only rule is to not judge or condemn people who might enjoy that lifestyle. The person who started that section punishes people who says EWWW or GROSS by posting stomach turning pictures such as of bestiality. We are not into bestiality, but we do have a great sense of humor.

This group was started as a private group to be away from judgmental and condemning people. That is why the people who are members there and stayed members are good friends with each other. We respect each other's opinions and lifestyles. We do not judge each other. And we appreciate good humor. If you are a judgmental type of person with no sense of humor, please do not go into our group and try to destroy what we have there. It is a private group. It is voluntary. If you don't like it, please leave, but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE TROUBLE FOR US. Thank you.

Christine (christine007) Aloha wrote: "Hi, I am the moderator for the group, Recommendations for Hot and Steamy PNR Series that Rebecca had a complaint about. This is in response to Rebecca's complaint about our group. She just joined..."

I truly thank you for your explanation. It makes the whole thing less one-sided. I 100% retract my previous post about GR taking action. If Rebecca joined despite your (very clear, I might add) warning about the graphic nature then shame on her for joining and shame on her for flaming your group on another group's boards as well as attempting to shut your group down.

From your description I would judge that your group would probably not be for me. But, I would not join only to cause trouble-I would simply just move past it and ignore it in favor of something that appealed to my interests more. I urge Rebecca to do the same.

But, I am also curious about GR's stance via their Terms of Service and wonder whether, due to her complaint, if they will take any sort of action.

Edit: I realize that this is a thread about books. I just felt the need to comment since one of the group's members originally brought the subject up in the thread.

R *is for Relentless* I am also a member of the group Rebecca complained about. Let's clarify We are not "in" to that type of thing. It is a great bunch of open minded funny people who love PNR. The pics she complained about were there to visually punish us for not being tolerant of people with different lifestyles. There is even a warning on that thread! Please don't judge us harshly.
