Have you read his Night Angel trilogy? They are also really good, espcially if you like a bit of dark fantasy.

Pat aka Tygyr (tygyr) | 69 comments I am reading a real hodge podge of books right now.
The Postcard Killers by James Patterson and Liza Marklund
Divine by Choice - A Classic tale of the Partholon by P.C. Cast
Savor the Moment - Book Three in the Bride Quartet by Norah Roberts
At Knit's End - Meditations for Women who Knit Too Much by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (less than 50 pgs to go)
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett (I have been reading this for what seems like centuries. Any chance to shelve it and forget it for awhile I have taken. Finally less than 100 pgs)
The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese (Will start this week)
An Unforgettable Lady by J.R. Ward writing as Jessica Bird
My "to Read Shelves" have become too large to count and I keep buying and reading the newer books!

message 8653: by Heather in FL (new)

Heather in FL (heather_fl) I loved Pillars of the Earth. The sequel, World Without End, wasn't as good, but was still good.

I've been watching the Pillars of the Earth mini-series on Starz and getting mad at all the changes, lol. Aliena's father did NOT die by beheading! He died slowly of illness, which was intended to extend his pain. I think they did the beheading just for the drama. They also introduced an incestuous type of relationship between William of Hamleigh and his mom that I really don't recall reading in the book. And William's mom killed his dad, which I really don't think happened. They made it out in the show that since the king wouldn't grant William a title, he had to inherit his father's, so his mom killed his dad.

Anyway... I'm getting OT, lol.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments i quite like the white cover for Catching Fire:

Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins

But you are right, for The Hunger Games and Mockingjay I prefer the other covers.

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments I'm 2/3 done with Darkfever but I'm not quiet caught on the Barrons' train yet. The storyline is very interesting but I'm not aching and yearning for Barrons as much as Bones, Mencheres, Ash and Rhev...just to name a few.

message 8656: by Raine (new)

Raine | 65 comments Finished Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #5) by Sherrilyn Kenyon yesterday. I just love those dark hunters, but this book made me cry a couple of times. Probably because I am highly pregnant at this moment and I could totally understand Cassandra's pain.

I finished my crazy marathon read of the Sookie Stackhouse series yesterday, and I'm feeling a bit adrift. I have no idea what to read next! I have a few books waiting for me, but I can't pick. Do I read A Local Habitation (October Daye, #2) by Seanan McGuire , Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter, #1) by Nalini Singh , or Darkness Calls (Hunter Kiss, #2) by Marjorie M. Liu ?

I've been hearing great things about that series. Maybe I should dive into that one...

message 8665: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 89 comments It's been a little since I updated.

This week, I finished Veil of Shadows (Veil, #2) by Shiloh Walker Blood & Sex, Volume 1 Michael by Angela Cameron Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins

All three are good. Love, loved Veil of Shadows and Mockingjay was a fitting ending to the Hunger Games trilogy.

I just started Sins of the Soul (Otherkin trilogy, #2) by Eve Silver . Eve Silver is fantastic, and I'm pretty excited for this one.

I think you should Pamela, it is really good : )

message 8667: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 89 comments I felt the same way, Katie. The ending especially felt lackluster and Katniss behaved so differently. Not bad by any means, but far from expectations.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Oh no, really? I still have it to read, I was hoping for it to be really good

message 8669: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 89 comments You should still read it. It still is a fitting closing to the series, and you'll be glad you read it.

You will have to tell us what you think when you are done.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments Will do, no one I know has read them so I need to enthuse about them somewhere otherwise I might implode!

message 8671: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Hyde (ittybittybee) | 28 comments Right now I am reading Jocelynn Drake Wait for Dusk. I like the series, its just that it took a little longer than I like to develop the relationship. It was like 1 book ok potential interest. 2-4, what kind of relationship do they have then book 5 they're jealous but they have no offical relationship. It kinds of makes no sense. I'm gonna finish though.

message 8672: by Denise Nanna (new)

Denise Nanna | 1321 comments Just finished Twice Bitten
Are there more books coming in that series?

message 8673: by Catherine (new)

message 8674: by Dija (new)

Shiree wrote: "Lazuline wrote: "Current's reading Spider's Bite (Elemental Assassin, #1) by Jennifer Estep and loving it so far."

It definitely is! I love the characters, and imo, the characters are the defining part of the book, so I loved the book as well. I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes paranormal romances with a mix of adventure and drama.

Jen ~The dreamer~ | 649 comments Finished Thorn Queen (Dark Swan, #2) by Richelle Mead and it was amazing! I love this series and looking forward to Iron Crowned. Today I started Sin Undone (Demonica, #5) by Larissa Ione and so far it's an awesome read. But that doesn't surprise me one bit, I love Demonica.

Andrea, there is sooo much going on and I just feel so bad for her. How can everything go so wrong for her. It's exhausting to think she has no where and noone to turn to, except Barrons???? is he or isn't he her HEA...ok don't tell me. I would be so mad if he isn't, let's just put it that way...

message 8678: by Crazy4more (new)

message 8681: by Crazy4more (new)

Crazy4more (lan-ni) | 3071 comments Man...I'm flying thru the Fever series. I'm going to have to reserve the Highlanders now and have them ready when I'm done with Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning . If Barrons is not making his move, I'm going to root for V'lane and Christian. So happy she meets Christian, someone who gives her information without inturior motives and a payment in return.

Hmm, I really want to read that series, everyone says book one's amazing "/ I can no longer resist temptation: I'm getting it xD
How many books are there? Just the three or is there another one coming out? (:

message 8694: by Jennifer (new)

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 411 comments I have just bought Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent & Pride (Shifters, #3) by Rachel Vincent , I didn't realize that Pride was the third book and not the second, but they were the only two there so I just assumed!
