Yeah, I was planning on doing that anyway. People give A Quick Bite and Twilight high ratings and I don't even understand why.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I generally don't pay attention to what people, say it's just like movies, if you don't experience it yourself then you won't know if you liked it or not.

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 89 comments Finished Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane this afternoon. Wow, just wow. I'm so in love with this series. The ending was enough to make me pre-order the third book, City of Ghosts, immediately. (BTW, the love triangle gets revved up in the second book. Very tense.)

I love the series, don't stop reading.
I think alot of people were upset as LKH started writing alot more sex scenes after "NIC" her Anita Books start to follow similar lines as her other series (Merry Gentry, bk 1 is "A kiss of shadows")very in detail sex scenes.. I personally love both series.

Hope that helps. :)

Yeah, I heard about that. I heard the smut was good but there was not much of a story so...I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it (or not).

message 7963: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 89 comments Read the Iron Fey novella Winter's Passage (Iron Fey, #1.5) by Julie Kagawa on a plane today, then started Kill Me Again (Secrets of Shadow Falls, #2) by Maggie Shayne .

I'm tempted to start Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning right now, before I get too far into Kill Me Again, but everyone has told me the series is so good that I'll plow through the rest of them ASAP and then be grumpy about having to wait for the final book in December. Thoughts?

message 7964: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) Chelsea I have some bad news for you, Shadowfever has been pushed back to 1/18/11 but according to a post on twitter form the author today, it is 728 pages! Anyway, it is an addictive series that you will plow through --- you might not be able to sleep much while reading it. And the cliffhanger is horrible, but still I think it is worth it to read it. It just depends on your personal thoughts. Moning has quite a few books in her Highlander series which are tied to the Fever series in terms of world building, so that helps keep the time while we wait for January.

I am currently reading House of Fallen Trees by Gina Ranalli I won it through First Reads here on GR and it is really good.

I just finished Storm Front (The Dresden Files, #1) by Jim Butcher On the Edge (The Edge, #1) by Ilona Andrews Questing Beast by Ilona Andrews Silent Blade by Ilona Andrews

Thanks, Regina! I'll definitely take the advice. I'm going to read the series, but it sounds like that cliffhanger is brutal. Sadly (?) lots of my favorite authors love throwing those mega cliffhangers my way.

quoting..."I am reading 'Out of the Shadows' by Kay Hooper..." I love Kay Hooper's books! I'm more drawn to psychic things than beasties, though.

Just started The Pace and its sounding the same.
I liked the Vampire Academy series. Any other series like that out there that you can recommend?

It is about a group of guys/girls punished for the opening of Pandora's box by housing the demons inside of themselves. They are filled with humor, romance, and action. I really think if you like Kenyon and Ward then you will like this series as well.

I think I will give them a try. But I have the Demonica series to read and also the Immortals After Dark (I have read one). I am on the 7th Midnight Breed book to read. As long as LOTU has HEA's I will read them. That's what I'm enjoying reading at the moment. When I'm done with Midnight Bread #7, which series do you think I should start? lol! Thank you!

So far, it's all right. It's short, and I think it's something that those who are already fans of the Red Rock Pass series would dig, but harder for new readers to get wrapped up in. We'll see if I feel the same way after finishing it.

So I got the rest of the books and so far so fun and good.
