I'll have to check it out. I not only write paranormal romance, I love reading it, and I'm looking for something good.

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 122 comments I finished Gabriel's Ghost (Dock Five Universe, #1) by Linnea Sinclair and really enjoyed it! Even though I'm not big into science fiction, it was more about the romance than the gadgets. She's got an overall arc, and each book features a different couple. Will definitely read more!

Now I'm reading Heart Mate (Celta's HeartMates, #1) by Robin D. Owens . This cover looks MUCH better than the original one. It's a romantic fantasy, and has a lot of worldbuilding. So far so good.

message 6560: by Anita (new)

Anita Clenney (anitaclenney) | 212 comments I'd love to know if Heart Mate is any good. I love strong worldbuilding and I love the cover. A good cover is so important, I think. My first release, Awaken the Warrior is going to the artworks department now, and they've asked for my opinion, which I didn't expect. Please post how this book is.

message 6561: by ϟ Jess ϟ (new)

ϟ Jess ϟ (treepretty_) Everyone keeps talking about Bones. I gotta get my hands on the first Night Huntress one day soon. Bones the TV show has a book series, too. haha. I am sure they are VERY different characters, though xD!

I am reading Glory in Death right now and listening to Darkly Dreaming Dexter. I love that I have no idea whodunnit so far in Glory in Death. Darkly Dreaming Dexter is really good, too, although the only character I like in it is Dexter. The surrounding characters come off as incredibly dumb.

This is one of my favorite book series, in fact it's the book series that i keep reading over and over again. I love Jeanine Frost's writing style and Cat and Bones are both characters that i love.

If you loved this series then you would love the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead. The first book in the series is called Succubus Blues. They're both really awesome series and i love both author's. No but i'm serious you have to read the rest of the Night Huntress series and you have to start reading Succubus Blues.

Enjoy the books!

Yeah, I remember reading through this series when it first came out. They clumped 4 stories into 2 books.

I guess there is a 5th one too? Haven't read that one.

message 6600: by Erinn (new)

Erinn (revbbyx3) | 1 comments I know this isn't "now" but I just finished Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
I must say, I was a sucker for Twilight, but slowly grew apart from all of it's sudden glory (I refuse to see the second film).

I'm hoping that Shiver stays a little less popular, only for the sake of saving the book's experience from being ruined. But unfortunately the content is very much like Twilight- Not in the sense that it's exact...

But there is this girl named Grace, and she is attacked by wolves when she is about 11 years old while sitting on her tire swing.
While she's bitten to pieces, one wolf stares her in the eye, and she remembers his golden eyes (something that made me have the feel of Twilight creep up my spine).

From then on- for six years, the wolf watches over her from the woods in her back yard, until one day they meet. This wolf isn't any ordinary wolf. He's a (drumroll please...) werewolf.

His name Sam, and he's in love with Grace.

Basically the plot is driven about how Sam can only keep shifting back to a human for so long, and his days are numbered. The cold is what makes him shift to wolf, and eventually the temperature doesn't matter anymore.

Another thing that REALLY drives the plot is how when Grace was little she was bitten, got the sickness, but never shifted.

I'm not going to say any more, because I enjoyed this book, cried to it like a helpless baby, and in the end was very pleased.

5 stars, no doubt.
