I read that one too. Awhile ago. Let me know what you thought.
It doesn't matter what you read as long as it does something for you. Keep those pages turning.

message 6510: by Kait (new)

Kait Nolan (kaitnolan) I just recently started Urban Shaman by C.E. Murphy...which is technically more of an urban fantasy than a paranormal romance, I think. I haven't gotten very far, but we've already dealt with the Wild Hunt, Cernunos, and a banshee of Italian heritage, so it's definitely interesting.

I also just started Patti O'Shea's In The Midnight Hour, but I haven't made it past the first chapter (it's my breakfast/computer boot up read on my iPhone at the moment).

I'm still kind of reeling from finishing up Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments trilogy, which I LOVED. Oh, and Kelley Armstrong's The Summoning. Been on a real YA kick lately.

hahaha...now you should read Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception (Books of Faerie, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater. I read the opening to Wicked Lovely than the opening to Lament back to back because to wasn't sure which one to read and they both tied on the interesting beginning department.

Depends on what kind of vampires you like...the "we're so bad, baby" types (like J.R. Ward's) or the intellectual types (like Stephenie Meyer's). If you want to try a good steam punk vampire story, I'd recommend Soulless. If you like urban fantasy, Charlaine Harris's Southern vampire series is my favorite. If you like chick lit, try Mary Janice Davidson or Dakota Cassidy. If you like contemporary romance with creatures who just happen to be vampires, try Love Fang (okay, that was a cheap plug). And happy reading!

I consider The Iron King as one of the best books I read this past year. It is about the world of faeries, many characters from A Midsummer Nights Dream, and is just a great read. The forbidden romance is there although subtle (Set up for more in the next book) and it is just a beautiful story.

I did like Jacob better but will probably move on to Elijah next month. I'm now reading The Pleasure Slave by Gena Showalter

message 6544: by Gemma (last edited Apr 08, 2010 11:01PM) (new)

Gemma | 34 comments I'm probs in the minority here, but I didn't really enjoy the Iron King. I think I might have built it up too much in my head, since from reading the blurb it seemed like my perfect kind of book. I thought the heroine was way too whiny and unoriginal, I just couldn't care about her... The romance was pretty well done though, so I'll probably read the sequel.

The Tairen Soul series by C.L. Wilson is awesome; it's got amazing fantasy usually only seen in YA with an adult romance that's one of the best done I've read recently.

I just read Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken , and I absolutely loved it; the love story's really sweet, and the world building and characters are epic (and the cover's the most gorgeous I've seen in forever)
Currently reading Inside Out by Maria V Snyder. Loved her Study series, but it feels a little too much like the Hunger Games - hopefully it'll get more original fast. :)
