I've read the first BDB book and am actually read the second right now. I really liked the first, but am not far enough into the second to decide what I think of it.

message 5309: by Heather B (new)

Heather B (heatherbenson) yap that's the one, and from what i have read so far in the first book I really like Vischous.

I do like the Midnight Breed series but BDB is better. I suggest reading both. I love the 2nd BDB book. It's my favorite of the series (I've read it twice). But Vischous is my favorite character, and I enjoy the way his and Butch's friendship evolves.

message 5316: by Nita (new)

Nita (gillnit) I finished up Hunting Julian. It was an ok book. Not one my favorites by Jacquelyn Frank. I will probably give the next book in this series a try. The little preview at the end of Hunting Julian was intriguing.

Now reading: Death's Mistress (Dorina Basarab, #2) by Karen Chance

I just finished Urban Shaman (Walker Papers, #1) by C.E. Murphy and the BDB series. (I have to confess, I tried to begin some time ago and just couldn't get past the naming convention. However, I took the advice of several of my fellow Goodreads members and tried again...sigh...couldn't put them down! lol)

Right now, I'm reading Never After by Laurell K. Hamilton , along with Thunderbird Falls (Walker Papers, #2) by C.E. Murphy . I am loving The Walker Papers series.

I was thinking about reading that but there are so many books in the series. I sort start a book in a series and just keep reading all of them.

I'm the same way...if book one is good, then I tend to keep going. :) The BDB is totally worth it (though I was mighty disappointing in V's book), and so far the League series is looking promising.

I'm only about 100 pages into the second BDB so I can't really pick a favourite, but yes I would have to say that I'm really liking Vishous, and how great him and Butch get along.

I liked the Nightwalker series but never quite got into the Shadowdwellers. I enjoyed Hunting Julian and I've already pre-ordered Stealing Kathryn (The Gatherers, #2) by Jacquelyn Frank . I'm hoping the Gatherer series gets better.

Rebecca (myasmom) | 83 comments I am reading Dark Prince Dark Prince (Carpathians, #1) (2d Ed) by Christine Feehan but I haven't been able to get into it so far. Granted I am only about 20 pages in.

I also started Catching Fire Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins and am not sure if I am going to enjoy it as much as Hunger Games. I hope it does though.

I had to have a break in between too, plus I read them out of order (to fill monthly challanges), I didn't like Butch and Phury's stories as much as the others. Overall I liked the books though.

I agree. I really enjoyed the Nightwalkers series too. The Shadowdwellers series was ok; I enjoyed the second book a lot more than the first and third. I hope the Gatherer series gets better too. From the preview in Hunting Julian, the male character seems much more intriguing than Julian.

Andrea, I am glad you mention this because I am finding that the first book isn't all that great. It's ok but it isn't grabbing me, I will read the next one just to see if they get better and go from there. Thanks for letting me know it not the best.

LOL I posted a status update when I was reading it "On page 98, where the heck is LC? I'm bored!"

He showed up 18 pages later and I was up til 4am reading--I obviously wasn't bored anymore. :)

All 4 books are great, you will love them all!

message 5343: by Nina (new)

Nina R. I can't wait; I'm seriously bored with what I'm reading right now (Atlantis Rising). Did you finish the entire series?

message 5344: by Megan (new)

Megan | 198 comments yeah, I read all 4, they are all great. But I experienced some severe Cat/Bones withdrawal when I was done, lol. Its probably my favorite series. Jeaniene Frost has a new spin off series coming out next Tuesday I believe featuring Spade. I can't wait for that. The first one is First Drop of Crimson.

message 5345: by Nina (new)

Nina R. I experienced the same withdrawal after I completed book 1! It stinks!! I'm checking out your book list - Thank you for your response :) I have several faves from BDB and Midnight Breed *these are more romancy/action types* to Chloe Neil's Chicagoland Vamp and of course Cat/Bones *action, mystery, romance*!

message 5346: by Megan (new)

Megan | 198 comments I just bought the Midnight Breed series but haven't got a chance to start it yet. Everyone keeps telling me its great though.

message 5347: by Nina (new)

Nina R. OMG, i loved it! In the beginning I thought it was very similar to BDB but as you read the story, it definitely has a different story line. I can see why so many parallels are drawn from the BDB books. I was able to get most of them from my local library (so I can save money $). I bought the first and latest one. I think you'll enjoy them!

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 280 comments I am reading Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur. So far I really like it.

Kelly | 144 comments Just finished Slave to Sensation.
I liked it.
Can anyone tell me if the series gets better? I know sometimes the first in the series can be weak.

message 5350: by new_user (new)

new_user | 1389 comments Kelly, imo, the first was definitely weak because the romance was not as developed as in later books (the focus was more on Sasha's growth, it seemed to me). Is that how you felt too?
