I totally agree. That book was my least favorite of the series and rather disappointing since I liked Lucian and thought he deserved better.

I just finished that one. I remembered the early books being darker and more focused on Anita's animator job but this one really brought it home to me just how much the series has morphed into something else.

I am have read up to Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #7) by LKH and I am up to Blue Moon I am loving them so far. I have heard they go a bit off kilter, but I think the same thing happened to the Merry Gentry series in the middle of the series, but then they come good again.

But my copy of Perfect Chemistry came today so I think I'll take a break from VA so I can read it. It's really sad how excited I am to start it lol

I am about to start "Halfway to the Grave" by Jeaniene Frost. It seems to be a general opinion on this site that is a great series. I just finished the Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J.R. Ward and was looking for a new series.

Although it's sci-fi, I just finished Wanderlust. It's the second in the Sirantha Jax series by Ann Aguirre and I am loving the characters and plots. Anyone who likes grittier UF should give it a try!

BDB was amazing. I was a big Anita Blake fan, but the Brothers were more fun characters. Zsadist was my favorite, but I am excited to see if we get a book featuring Qhuinn.
