Nina R. Friday Night Bites, By Chloe Neil
I am on the second book of the Chicagoland Vampire Series. Merit, the main female character, was just turned into a vampire (not a spoiler, she talks about it on the first page!). It is similar in concept to True Blood (Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris) with different supes - weres, fae, demons, etc and vampiric concept; except it's based in a big urban city. Merit is sassy and hilarious. This book has great sexual tension & conflicted female-male relationships! Do give it a try! I read the first book in fast (2-3days) and hear great things about Book 2.
***while I read Friday Night Bites, I am waiting for the next books to come out in: the Black Dagger Brotherhood (JR Ward), Midnight Breed Series (Lara Adrian), Sookie Stackhouse Series (Charlaine Harris), Rogue Hunger/Argeneau Series (Lynsay Sands).***

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) I am listening to Cry Wolf right now--I usually have an audiobook in the car to listen to on the way to & from work, but last night, after the kids were in bed and I went to commence my nightly reading time, I grabbed my ipod instead and listened to Cry Wolf--so I guess that means I really like it. :)

And the short story prequel to that series in On the Prowl was great.

message 5134: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cindy121381) First of all, I am going to have to learn how you guys do all your fancy comments, like what people have said before, posting pictures of the books, and links to the books. Even though I’ve been on goodreads for a while, I just started really using it and I am pathetically computer illiterate.

Cherra and Laura, thanks for the recommendations! I got On the Edge by Ilona Andrews and Storm Born by Richelle Mead yesterday. I’m slowly working my way down your lists! Lol

Megan – I am a HUGE FAN of Scottish highlander books. I have probably read like 50 and I can’t get enough! Most of them have been romance novels (does anyone know of a good Scottish book that isn’t a romance novel?) and I think I may have only not liked Karen Marie Monings series because I had just read Monica McCarty Highlander series and those were absolutely amazing! There are like 6 books in that series and they are all different (yet the same as all romance novels are) but Monings books weren’t, they were just the same. Boy meets girl. Boy wants to do girl. Girl resists. Finally they do it, they’re in love. End of book. If you are looking for a good highlander book, try Highlander Untamed. It’s the first of Monica McCarthy’s series. It’s not paranormal or anything. It’s kind of trashy but I couldn’t put it down.

Cindy, to quote someone else's post, in the bottom right hand corner of each post is "reply", if you click that it will add that person's comment in italics into your comment box.

And to add a link to a book or the cover picture of a book, look right above the comment box at the bottom of the page. There is a link to an "add book/author" pop up window. Just search for the book then at the bottom of the pop up there is the choice for either a link or the book cover.
