John DeDakis | 2 comments John DeDakis Hi, Everyone..... I'm new here. The short answer to the question is that my job at CNN changed -- I'd been a writer, but was promoted to editor. After 20 years as a reporter, editing was tedious. I needed a creative outlet and writing a novel that had a backdrop of politics and journalism seemed like a good idea. I drew upon some personal experiences (my sister's suicide and a car/train collision I witnessed as a kid) and pretty soon I had the ingredients for a mystery-suspense novel. Does that answer your question? Anyone? Anyone? ..... Bueller?

For those of you who have not read Fast Track, you are missing the "train." I couldn't put it down.
