I think one of the reasons I just love this author is her wonderful heroes. I have quite a few favorite authors, but she's one of them that really distinguishes herself in how compelling her heroes are written. Do you have any thoughts about this?

I think that each hero is distinct among her books. They have the 'Kleypas' stamp, but they stand out from each other in my mind.
I'm still very new to her writings, but I am really enjoying the heroes. So far, they aren't the 'cookie cutter' heroes we so frequently see. My daughter has a theory. She says that some authors seem to write as though they have a bunch of index cards on the walls with names, plots, looks, etc... and they just change out one name for another.
Though I am only on book 2, we've seen so many different men, and their character developement is so well done... there are, as of yet, no "same old cookies" in the bunch.
Another thing I really like about LK's heroes is that a lot of them are ordinary guys who've made their fortune through hard work, intelligence and determination. Also, for all their alpha toughness on the outside, they're usually softies on the inside. Overall, I think they're the kind of guys who would make great real-life heroes.

Oh, yes. I like the hardworking, down to earth nature of her heroes too, Julie.Dhestiny, I agree, I don't see a cookie-cutter aspect to LK's heroes. Or her heroines, for that matter.
Julie, I agree with you... I love the characters who aren't born into money, but work hard and enjoy it!

I love the fact that her heros usually start out with a "bad guy" attitude and become tamed by the woman they love(or that loves them)....doesn't hurt that they all seem to have testosterone coming out of their pores either. (((hee hee)))I think the chemistry LK creates between her characters in amazing as well.

Ok, I will except your request. Have you read an elizabeth hoyt? her style is very similar to LK and I loved all her heros!

They are all of the heros have some sort of something a little "wrong"...they aren't perfect, is what I am saying but the are still great heros!

Agreed!
Julie Garwood writes heroes like that as well...scary, dangerous, but big softy teddy bears inside when it comes to their woman!

I love Julie Garwood's books. You're right about her heroes, Bekah. Probably why I enjoy her.

Royce is a fave of mine, as well.
I already have Jack and Hardy in my favorites list,I think her guys are the best,and I think she is a very good writer-I`ve only read the Travis`,but once I picked them up I couldn`t put them down again.Thats never happened to me before,for 3 books in a row.

That's a great sign, Kathy Anne. Next week, I'll start Sugar Daddy, and finally see what her contemps are like.
I was just daydreaming... it is 4 o'clock on a Friday after all...and I was wondering what would it be like, or what would it look like if ALL of Lisa's yummy heroes were in a room together?
what would they be doing together? We should write one of those continuous stories...
and we could insert ourselves as the heroines!

Oh boy, that would be one huge testosterone good smelling room if all of LK's heros were in there. I would be too weak in the knees to stand upright...oh boy, guess I'd I have to lie down...maybe someone would rescue me!
Maybe it would be a convention of the strikingly handsome, overprotective, fiercy possessive and incredibly sexy men of fiction. There could be booths where we got to experience some hero's specialty.

Oh, my! Sign me up for that, Bekah. I think the would need to be plenty of strong arms and fainting couches to catch all the women with the 'vapors.' LOL!
Any red-blooded woman's fantasy! Although I'm not sure swooning is the first thing that would come to my mind!!! They'd probably be playing poker, seeing as in this fantasy they wouldn't have "softened" (Oh, the puns I could do!) up from contact of their women (they'd all be single, naturally!!!)..:-)
