Sophia Perez (sophiap) | 33 comments Hello everyone...

I have read the first book in the Immortal series Evermore. The book in general was okay, however it was not one of those books that your counting the days for the next addition. However since then 2 more books have been released in the series "Blue Moon" and "Shadowland".

Are these books any better than the first?

Tina | 130 comments I think Evermore is the best in the series. From there, the series seems to be going down hill. Blue Moon was okay. By Shadowland nothing seems to be happening. It feels like the author is trying to stretch the series out but doesn't have a story in mind.

I really liked Evermore. There is no character growth in the series, in fact it's actually the opposite. By Shadowland I was completely frustrated with all the characters. I'm very disappointed with this series.

Stacie H. (staciemh) | 75 comments Sophia, like you, I thought Evermore was just okay despite the good reviews it had received on different sites. I am trying to read through Blue Moon now just because I had already taken the time to read the first one, and I am hating it even more than Evermore.

message 4: by Sophia (new)

Sophia Perez (sophiap) | 33 comments OMG..i really hate to hear that. The first one was okay, but I didn't really care for it too much.... I have already ordered the other 2 books. Like you I figures I might as well finish.

message 5: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments I liked Evermore. Blue Moon was frustrating and I found Shadowland pretty much the same. I will keep reading the series because I want to know how it all plays out, but it's not one of my favorites.

message 6: by Tina (new)

Tina | 130 comments I was so disappointed with the series that I won't continue. Shadowland was so hard to get through. It was almost painful. Maybe I feel this way because my expectations were high.

Sophia - can you cancel your order? It's more of a library rental.

message 7: by Angela (new)

Angela (angbens) | 343 comments I've read the 1st and 2nd books, I will read the 3rd. I wasn't head over heels about these books, but I did like them. The second one is a little slow. I bought the others, I will get the 3rd from the library though.

Tiffany (vampoholic) | 122 comments Just so u know, Ever herself gets dumb and dumber.

message 9: by ஐAndreaஐ (new)

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments LOL, I agree with Tiffany!

message 10: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah0620) | 3 comments I finished Shadowland last month, but it took me a while to read it. I had to put it down and I read 2 other books in between, before I picked it up and started reading it again. i liked the books, but I wan't in love with them. She has a spin off series that she is writing about Ever's sister Riley, but I don't know just yet if I plan on reading them or not.

message 11: by ♥Lynn ♥ (new)

♥Lynn ♥ | 519 comments I liked the first, it was not the best YA book I read this month, that would have to be Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick! I think that Alyson Noel just really fumbled the ending. I liked everything up until where she found out what immortal and everything really meant. It was just not handled in a way to keep the story flowing, it was just choppy and sometimes made no since.

message 12: by Sophia (new)

Sophia Perez (sophiap) | 33 comments No I can't cancel, I ordered from Amazon, however I can return them, which is what I intend to do! I went out on a limb ordering theses books, and I should of went with my first opinion. The first book was so slow...I guess I was hoping she would get better...

I will not read the other series about Ever's sister.

I know exacly what you mean... I mean he drank the blood, but was not a vampire..weird

message 14: by Tina (new)

Tina | 130 comments Sophia - if you thought Evermore was slow ... you'll be bored to death with the rest of the series. So for your health, you probably should return them, LOL.

Tina | 130 comments Tiffany wrote: "Just so u know, Ever herself gets dumb and dumber."

Yes! I couldn't understand that. I liked Ever in Evermore and then ... I don't know what happened?! Her character is plummeting.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm glad you started this thread.

I also read Evermore and found it completely lacking. I was thinking that the second in the series is usually better because of course the first book is getting the story lines all lined up and information out for general purposes. However, it really seems like I would be wasting my time continuing on with this series. Thanks for the head up.

message 17: by Amber (new)

Amber Hoxit (clove311) | 43 comments I agree. Ever's character was somewhat engaging in the first book only because you were still trying to figure out what was going on with Damian. I was bored to tears with blue moon. I will not waste time, energy, or money on Shadowland.

message 18: by Mandy (last edited Jan 14, 2010 05:16PM) (new)

Mandy Rosella (mandy1744) | 9 comments I really liked Evermore. Ever could get really annoying but suprisingly I couldn't the book down. Blue Moon was a great disappointment. I was completely confused by their relationship and very annoyed at the end when Ever made the stupidest choice of her life. Damen confused me to tears with his annoying mood swings and well Ever was getting dumber by the second. I'm going to read Shadowland I just hope I don't waste my money on it. (:

message 19: by Tina (new)

Tina | 130 comments Mandy - Shadowland is more frustrating than Blue Moon. If you were disappointed with Blue Moon, you won't like Shadowland. I'd borrow it.

message 20: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Rosella (mandy1744) | 9 comments Ok thanks, I'll try and borrow from the library

message 21: by Alice (new)

Alice | 9 comments haha i liked the first 1 but im in the middle of blue moon and iv changed books! haha :P

has anyone read my bestfriend has issues?

message 22: by Siany (new)

Siany (charnterelle) | 3 comments I didnt really enjoy this book either. I expected it to be similar to the Twilight Saga but was sadly mistaken. I will prob still read the others in the series if given to me, I wouldnt go out of my way to get them tho

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Funny, I thought the best thing about the book was that it wasn't like Twilight. Although, I wasn't expecting it to be or wanted it to be. I don't like to judge a book by a different book or author.

RogueHireling (rogue_hireling) | 156 comments Tiffany wrote: "Just so u know, Ever herself gets dumb and dumber."

Thats so hard to imagine. She started out pretty down there. =/
I also was not a big fan of the book but never read anymore and am now glad after reading what everyone is saying about the sequels.

Debbie The Book Vixen (goodreadscomdebbiethebookvixen) Once I started Ever more I could not put it down, same with Blue Moon. Shadow land is going to take me another month or so I have gotten hooked on some others. I do like the books and she will be coming out with a 4th book later this year. Hope this helps and good luck :-)

I though the second book Blue Moon was cool....Shadowland I though fell flat : ( ...

message 27: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Cook Kolbek (audreykol) I really didn't care to much for Evermore. I am not sure if I will even read the other books in the series.

message 28: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Rosella (mandy1744) | 9 comments You should just for an opinion's sake anyway they are worth a read.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

what there great

message 30: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Rosella (mandy1744) | 9 comments I don't mind them either

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

c lol

message 32: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimlee) | 7 comments Luckily i only read Evermore book 1 then went onto Wicked Lovely. Usually i'd read a whole series before moving on but Evermore didn't grip me. Well, Wicked Lovely didn't grip me much too. So i'm planning to move on and try another series. Sigh, it's difficult to find other engaging, enthralling and engrossing series like Twilight and Vampire Academy.

message 33: by Bri (new)

Bri | 18 comments Now before i read shadowland i would have said that evermore was definitly worth a read but honestly i'm not quite sure if it gets any better than that. I loved the books before and i also liked shadowland...to a certain extent. Now see shadowland i liked because of the introduction of Jude however the book in general fell flat for me as well. It just didn't live up to my expectaions, which were not too high. I definitly think that this series is a good read and if not just to read for a first hand opinion and curiousity, but i have definitly lowered my hopes for the next book which i will have to read for the mere fact of needing to now what happens next and finishing what i started.

message 34: by Alicia (new)

Alicia (aliciaaliciaalicia) | 39 comments I liked the series so far. I thought Ever was kind of an idiot, which made it humorous. But at the end of Shadowland I definitely wanted to slam my head against the wall a couple of times, out of frustration. I liked shadowland because of the introduction of Jude. I'm looking forward to the next one. I'm a book optimistic, I'm gonna sit here and go ok... this one will be better, I'm going to love it. lol

message 35: by Ciara (new)

Ciara | 19 comments i thought Ever was a complete idiot in Blue Moon. The first book was ok but i wasnt itchin to read the 2nd. I borrowed it from the library (heehee :-) The third one i want to read just to see whats going to happen. In the middle of Blue Moon, i borrowed Vampire Academy from a teacher and ended up buying th rest of the series. Now those books are worth waiting for but the Evermore? not so much. sorry if you think otherwise.

message 36: by Amber (new)

Amber | 13 comments I agree with alicialyn. My favorite in shadowland was jude too. Ever's character just keeps getting on my nerves and I hate the way Damen treats Ever like a child all the time. I know she is new to the whole immortal thing but jeezzz cant he be her boyfriend and not her dad!!

message 37: by ♥ Sam ♥ (new)

♥ Sam ♥ (dsirvine1) Im really dissapointed with these reviews hey.... I have read evermore and Bluemoon and actually only just recieved Shadowland in the mail YESTERDAY!! i was so ampt up about it but now im not so sure with these comments. I only intended on reading in the hopes that something would finally make Ever and Damen 'offical'. But when i think about it even in the 2nd book i was getting the cranks at it. Guess ill just have to read it and judge for myself. Right?

message 38: by Mandy (new)

Mandy Rosella (mandy1744) | 9 comments You probably shouldn't read these review till you have your own opinion cause it'll just wreck it for you.

message 39: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I just finished Evermore, and I though it was okay. I'll read the rest of the series but I'm not jumping up and down in anticipation.

message 40: by Shanna (new)

Shanna Stanley I thought that Evermore was an amazing book and could not wait to get my hands on Blue Moon. At the end of that book I started to get annoyed and when I finished Shadowland, ugh. I only thought that Dark Flame better hurry up and come out and it better be great.

message 41: by Felicia (new)

Felicia Adkins | 6 comments Yeah Evermore is the best of the series but the others are really good too. And Dark Flame is coming out soon, which is the next book. I'm going to see the author at a signing soon! im excited! trust me the series is good!

message 42: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) I really liked EVERMORE. Didn't like BLUE MOON and really hated SHADOWLAND. I disliked it so much I felt like writing Alyson Noel and telling her she owed me for the time I wasted reading it!

message 43: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (kellyng) | 9 comments I have read Evermore and Bluemoon. I agree that the first book was ok. Then the second book was kinda slow and ...... I intend to read the third book when I have nothing else to read.

Katherine Quarles | 27 comments I have read Evermore and Blue Moon; however, I think Evermore was the best one. I will continue to read the rest of the series . . but it just didn't capture me anymore after the first book. :(

message 45: by Amber I. (new)

Amber I. | 48 comments This was one of the first series I decided to stop reading. For me the books never seemed to progress. The characters never developed and it just seemed nothing changed. Maybe a new problem happened but it played out too predicitably. I liked Evermore but after that it went down and after the 3rd book I gave up.

message 46: by Rayna (new)

Rayna dont waste your time if you havent read Shadowland.....this was one of those series where only the 1st book was decent and the rest went downhill from there! really downhill! the problem i have is this.....i like to finish a series once i start one and the only rationalle i would have for reading the next is this......IT HAS TO GET BETTER THAN THE LAST ONE.....RIGHT?????? unfortunately i dont see that happenening! decisions decisions!

Katherine Quarles | 27 comments Evermore has been the best one so far, I think. I started Blue Moon; however, I couldn't make myself finsh it. I harldy ever not finish a book. Like you said, it just couldn't keep my attention. I still plan on giving the newest book a chance.

message 48: by Mariya (new)

Mariya (cr6zym0nkeyiz) | 157 comments evermore is the best so far. i didnt really like the other 2. im not eager to start the fourth when it comes out so i mites hold off on it for a while since there r better series to read.

message 49: by Sunni (new)

Sunni | 2 comments I agree, out of all three books, Evermore would be the best. the other two kind of dragged on...

message 50: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn Amaro (paromantasy) | 26 comments I have to say that this series is not my favorite - at all. YOu should read Evernight! That series is awesome. I read that one by accident, meaning to read Evermore and it was the best mistake I ever made..lol. I then read the Evermore series and was so disappointed!
