UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Gosh, Susan... that's rough. You can check my Historical Romance shelves... but off the top of my head, another absolute favorite HR author is Julie Garwood, especially her hot highlanders.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments You could try Julia Quinn Susan, although most her books don't have the intensity of LK, they are still good.

Laura (filoviridae) | 783 comments I enjoy Cathy Maxwell's books...I have a shelf devoted to her books if you would want to check out what she has written.

Have you read any of Judith McNaught's historicals? Also if you want something very fun to read try Sarah MacLean's

Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake.

message 705: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Judith McNaught is good, but can't be compared to LK. McNaught's books are so, so emotionally draining. It took me weeks to recuperate from Whitney My Love. LOL

message 706: by Kate (new)

Kate Reads (misskatereads) I've recently discovered Sophie Jordan and she is utterly fantastic :)

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments @Katherine, I really loved Sarah MacLeans book! i can't wait for her to bring another book out.

message 708: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 828 comments Dhes, that's what I love about McNaught. Her stories are with you forever and they always have a HEA.

Suzanne, I think Sarah's next book is released on Oct. 26th. I can't wait.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments Just a heads up but at the moment if you are in the US you can get Penelope & Prince Charming by Jennifer Ashley for free on Kindle

message 710: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Katherine, that's very true. I think about A Kingdom of Dreams,Whitney, My Love and Until You all the time.

message 711: by Beverly (new)

Beverly | 64 comments Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? Could anyone tell me a good first book to read from Liz Carlyze or Suzanne Enoch? Thank you.

message 712: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I've not yet read anything by those authors, Beverly, so I'm afraid I'm of no help.

Bekah, my favourite was the second one 'Between the Devil and Desire'. I just loved Jack Dodger. I thought the back covers of all four books were really hot, especially the last one ' Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel'!!

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I have just finished Liz Carlyles Sins, Lies and Secrets series and that was really good, especially the first and last book. Here is the trilogy:

One Little Sin (Sins, Lies, and Secrets, #1) by Liz Carlyle Two Little Lies (Sins, Lies, and Secrets, #2) by Liz Carlyle Three Little Secrets (Sins, Lies, and Secrets, #3) by Liz Carlyle

message 718: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Thank you, Suzanne!!! I haven't read anything by her yet, but I've been trying to read books by authors new to me at least 2x per month.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments At the moment I am trying to finish series and things and am trying to avoid new authors!!! But am having trouble soing that at the moment!

I hope you enjoy the Liz Carlyle books, I though they were good : )

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 380 comments Beverly wrote: "Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? Could anyone tell me a good first book to read from Liz Carlyze or Suzanne En..."

I haven't read The Scoundrels of St. James, but I have read some of Lorraine Heath's other books and definitely recommend her in general. I loved her Texas Trilogy and Always to Remember.

Liz Carlyle is another favorite author of mine. All of her books seem to tie together in an intricate character web. She says you can read them separately and that is true, but sometimes one book may start character development for later books and later ones may reveal spoilers for an earlier book. That's a major no-no for me, so I've been reading them in publication order. I created a list in the Romance Series List group if you're interested in reading them in order too: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...
If spoilers don't matter to you, my favorites of hers so far have been My False Heart, Beauty Like the Night and The Devil You Know

Lisarenee | 392 comments I just read The Devil Wears Plaid by Teresa Medeiros by Teresa Medeiros. I got it in a Goodreads book giveaway and is the first book of hers I've read. It was really good. If all of her books are as good as this one I'll be a happy camper. Has anyone else read any of her books?

message 722: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I read Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros and thought it was pretty good.

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) | 2140 comments I can also recommend Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros and After Midnight (Cabot, #1) by Teresa Medeiros The Vampire Who Loved Me (Cabot, #2) by Teresa Medeiros Some Like It Wild (Kincaid Highlander, #2) by Teresa Medeiros Some Like It Wicked (Kincaid Highlander, #1) by Teresa Medeiros - all of which were great reads.

Lisarenee | 392 comments Thanks Uniquely Moi and Carol. I'll try to start with those.

Suzanne (Under the Covers Book blog) | 630 comments I am looking to start reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. But when I try and look for the first book, I get one called Cross Stich, does anyone know if this is the right book, or am I looking at a different series?

Lady Vale, I agree with you about 'Comanche Heart'. It really pulls at your heart strings, doesn't it? I was so wanting Amy and Swift to have their HEA although at one point I was beginning to wonder whether it would happen. I think you will guess the scene I mean. I had to get the Kleenex out! I'm reading 'Indigo Blue' at the moment and loving this book as well. Again, it's different from the other two. I don't know how Catherine Anderson does it. Each story is fantastic but so different.

Hi Lady Vale, I am new to the group here and I love Lisa Kleypas's novels. But I cannot always get my hands on one of her books. I have been reading Sabrina Jeffrie's series and am in fact reading one now. I really love them and think they are well worth the time. I am currently on the 2nd book in the Stoneville series.

MashJ | 733 comments I really am loving Mary Jo Putney's books at the moment. They were recommended to me by someone else in this group so thank you whoever it was!

I have a major crush on Gavin from The Bartered Bride! He is very honourable and the story has plenty of plot and a cliffhanger ending. The Bartered Bride (The Bride Trilogy, #3) by Mary Jo Putney

I am going to read Dancing on the Wind next. Dancing on the Wind (Fallen Angels, #3) by Mary Jo Putney

D.G. Ladies - Can you please recommend me a trilogy or quartet that you really enjoyed? I need it for a challenge I'm doing at the RRRC group. It can be any genre...I read pretty much everything.

I prefer a series that's already completely published and something not too old (published after 2000 at least)so I don't have a hard time getting the books.

It needs to be a series I haven't started either (I need to read it from beginning to end and that's why I don't want something too long.)

I already have in my sigths Liz Carlyle's Sins, Lies and Secrets series that Suzanne mentioned above but I'd like a few other choices!

I've already read the Carsington series, both Hoyt's series and I gave up on Laurens after a few books into the Cysnster series. But I definitely have the Garwoods in my radar. :)

D.G. I've read so many good things about JG...most likely I'll pick one of hers for this challenge.

I read The Perfect Waltz already and really liked it...but I don't remember reading the first book in that series.

I just asked for a deal on PBS for the Highland Laird's trilogy...let's see if I get them!
