Gosh, Susan... that's rough. You can check my Historical Romance shelves... but off the top of my head, another absolute favorite HR author is Julie Garwood, especially her hot highlanders.

You could try Julia Quinn Susan, although most her books don't have the intensity of LK, they are still good.
I enjoy Cathy Maxwell's books...I have a shelf devoted to her books if you would want to check out what she has written.
Susan wrote: "I'm glad you thought so. I was afraid to post that thinking someone would be affended. Lisa K is my all time fav but since memorizing all her books I've been trying to find authors like her: grea..."Have you read any of Judith McNaught's historicals? Also if you want something very fun to read try Sarah MacLean's
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake.
Judith McNaught is good, but can't be compared to LK. McNaught's books are so, so emotionally draining. It took me weeks to recuperate from Whitney My Love. LOL
Dhes, that's what I love about McNaught. Her stories are with you forever and they always have a HEA. Suzanne, I think Sarah's next book is released on Oct. 26th. I can't wait.
Just a heads up but at the moment if you are in the US you can get Penelope & Prince Charming by Jennifer Ashley for free on Kindle
Katherine, that's very true. I think about A Kingdom of Dreams,Whitney, My Love and Until You all the time.
Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? Could anyone tell me a good first book to read from Liz Carlyze or Suzanne Enoch? Thank you.
Beverly wrote: "Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? I loved the scoundrels of st james too, especially the first one. have you read elizabeth hoyt's four soldiers? my favs were the first two!
Bekah wrote: "I loved the scoundrels of st james too, especially the first one. have you read elizabeth hoyt's four soldiers? my favs were the first two!"Bekah, my favourite was the second one 'Between the Devil and Desire'. I just loved Jack Dodger. I thought the back covers of all four books were really hot, especially the last one ' Midnight Pleasures with a Scoundrel'!!
I have just finished Liz Carlyles Sins, Lies and Secrets series and that was really good, especially the first and last book. Here is the trilogy:
Thank you, Suzanne!!! I haven't read anything by her yet, but I've been trying to read books by authors new to me at least 2x per month.
At the moment I am trying to finish series and things and am trying to avoid new authors!!! But am having trouble soing that at the moment! I hope you enjoy the Liz Carlyle books, I though they were good : )
Beverly wrote: "Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? I loved her Texas Trilogy and Always to Remember.
Liz Carlyle is another favorite author of mine. All of her books seem to tie together in an intricate character web. She says you can read them separately and that is true, but sometimes one book may start character development for later books and later ones may reveal spoilers for an earlier book. That's a major no-no for me, so I've been reading them in publication order. I created a list in the Romance Series List group if you're interested in reading them in order too: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...
If spoilers don't matter to you, my favorites of hers so far have been My False Heart, Beauty Like the Night and The Devil You Know
I just read
by Teresa Medeiros. I got it in a Goodreads book giveaway and is the first book of hers I've read. It was really good. If all of her books are as good as this one I'll be a happy camper. Has anyone else read any of her books?
I am looking to start reading the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. But when I try and look for the first book, I get one called Cross Stich, does anyone know if this is the right book, or am I looking at a different series?

Lady Vale, I agree with you about 'Comanche Heart'. It really pulls at your heart strings, doesn't it? I was so wanting Amy and Swift to have their HEA although at one point I was beginning to wonder whether it would happen. I think you will guess the scene I mean. I had to get the Kleenex out! I'm reading 'Indigo Blue' at the moment and loving this book as well. Again, it's different from the other two. I don't know how Catherine Anderson does it. Each story is fantastic but so different.
Beverly wrote: "Would anyone recommend Lorraine Heath's Scoundrels of St. James series or Sabrina Jeffries' Lords of Stoneville series? But I cannot always get my hands on one of her books. I have been reading Sabrina Jeffrie's series and am in fact reading one now. I really love them and think they are well worth the time. I am currently on the 2nd book in the Stoneville series.
I really am loving Mary Jo Putney's books at the moment. They were recommended to me by someone else in this group so thank you whoever it was! I have a major crush on Gavin from The Bartered Bride! He is very honourable and the story has plenty of plot and a cliffhanger ending.
I am going to read Dancing on the Wind next.
Ladies - Can you please recommend me a trilogy or quartet that you really enjoyed? I need it for a challenge I'm doing at the RRRC group. It can be any genre...I read pretty much everything.I prefer a series that's already completely published and something not too old (published after 2000 at least)so I don't have a hard time getting the books.
It needs to be a series I haven't started either (I need to read it from beginning to end and that's why I don't want something too long.)
I already have in my sigths Liz Carlyle's Sins, Lies and Secrets series that Suzanne mentioned above but I'd like a few other choices!

You may have read some of these, but here are a few suggestions...
Tessa Dare Stud Club trilogy
http://www.goodreads.com/series/47488...
Jodi Thomas Wife Lottery series...
http://www.goodreads.com/series/41422...
Catherine Anderson Comanche series (quartet)
Laura Lee Guhrke Girl Bachelors series
http://www.goodreads.com/series/41104...
Gaelen Foley Spice Trilogy series
http://www.goodreads.com/series/42788...
Thanks so much Christine! I have the first book of the Stud club trilogy on the way so I may start with that. I read the first book of the Girl Bachelor series, loved it...but never continued reading it! Thanks for the reminder!
I'll check the rest too. :)
I was going to mention the Wallflower quartet then realied duh I was on the Lisa Kleypas group!!!How about Charlotte Featherstone?
Or Johanna Lindsey's Wyoming series
I second LLG's Girl Bachelor's quartet, really loved it...also the Four Soldier's by Elizabeth Hoyt, and Jude Deveraux's Velvet series
D.G. wrote: "Ladies - Can you please recommend me a trilogy or quartet that you really enjoyed? I need it for a challenge I'm doing at the RRRC group. It can be any genre...I read pretty much everything."One of my favorite trilogies is Elizabeth Hoyt's Princes Trilogy:
DG - What about Loretta Chase's Carsington series? Ok.. it's five books, but only the first four are about brothers, the fifth being about a nephew:-)
Otherwise Stephanie Laurens' Black Cobra quartet is all out (I enjoyed them, but I don't think everyone did... gotta check the reviews again:-p)..
Otherwise Julie Garwood's Highland Laird books (three of them), or her Crown Spies quartet..
and
Otherwise to second Julie's author, Elizabeth Hoyt also has a Four Soldiers quartet:
Melanie wrote: "DG - What about Loretta Chase's Carsington series? Ok.. it's five books, but only the first four are about brothers, the fifth being about a nephew:-)
[bookcover:M..."Thanks for the recos, ladies!
I've already read the Carsington series, both Hoyt's series and I gave up on Laurens after a few books into the Cysnster series. But I definitely have the Garwoods in my radar. :)
Judy wrote: "I just "found" Julie Garwood's historicals a few months ago and I love them. I "discovered" JG in June, and have read all of her books except Come the Spring and Sizzle:-) They're so "feel-good":-)
DG... I also gave up on the Cynster after book 8 or so, but I really got into her latest quartet:-)
Otherwise what about Anne Gracie's Merridew Sisters quartet or Suzanne Enoch's Lessons in love?
and
