Jkaty | 2 comments I have just finished reading book The Right Thing from Sally Bibb and I have to say it was one of the best books I have ever read. It's about very current topic ethics in business. Highly recommend.

message 403: by Storm (new)

Storm (stormgerlock) I'm reading Emma for the first time ever. It's for my english class, but since I love Jane Austen, I'm loving it.

ever wonder what the difference between based on and inspired by are, when it comes to a TV series? Let's just say that Bones is inspired by.

I'm just beginning The Red Pyramid. I really like Rick Riordan, and my hubby already read this book. He said it was actually pretty good! Has anyone else read it?

Haha! I definitely agree with you. I actually do enjoy the show Bones, but it really does bother me how socially stupid they made Temperance. I do find it amusing though that in the television show the main character of Brennan's books is Kathy Reichs.

Ralph McEwen I just finished Genellan: Planetfall this is a wonderful story. The aliens are alien not just humans with different skin. The struggle is realistic and the interactions are believable. Would you survive? Free download from Baen.com

message 411: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Started Blood and Chocolate today. I don't quite like the writing style. The story is good though. I'm about half done.
Tomorrow I will start either Gathering Blue or Ghost Town.

Hey Adam!
Well I finished it and I have it 5 stars. I loved it. Admittedly the book could be shorter and it took me about 100pages to really get into it but ultimately I loved it. So give it one more try! If you can't get past it after another attempt then its a case of different strokes for different folks I guess. If you do, let me know how you get on.

Lol I have to agree. I really enjoy the TV show but I enjoy the books more. Discovered Reichs when her first or second book came out and fell in love. All of her books seem to be really well thought out and very entertaining.

message 426: by LaVerne (new)

LaVerne (lavernethompson) | 5 comments Reading Dark Slayer by Christine Feehan. I shouldn't have started it while I was so busy, but I needed a distraction at the time. Boy is it a distraction.

I really want to start that series, but I have so many others going on right now.

message 428: by LaVerne (new)

LaVerne (lavernethompson) | 5 comments Jackie-It's part of the Dark Carpathians but it's the Dragonseeker part. Let me just say the first paragraph completely hooked me. The last thing I needed to do was start reading this book. I have my own work I need to finish. LOL!

message 429: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (shananigansreads) I'm currently reading No Rest for the Wicked (Immortals After Dark, #3) by Kresley Cole which I love love LOVE! Immortals after dark is definitely one of my top series choices. I'm also reading Jennifer Scales and the Ancient Furnace (Jennifer Scales, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson which I have to say is slow going so far. I'm only in the beginning but I don't see this as a series I will be compelled to continue.

I also just picked up The Book Thief and am reading The Historian and am about 200 pages into it and am really captivated by it so far!

message 436: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Just finished Hunting Fear (Fear, #1). Took me about 7 hours of (almost) straight reading. I love this series. I have the last 4 in the series waiting. So Chill of Fear (Fear, #2) is next!

message 437: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 778 comments I'm reading The Killing Room which was a free Sony download.

message 438: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay Kristina - How do you find free Sony Reader downloads? I have one but am not yet savvy in it! Thanks!

message 439: by Kristina (new)

Kristina | 778 comments Lindsay- Do you have a Sony ereader? I have no idea if their ebooks work with other readers. But when you go to the website, you download their ereader app that is their ebook store. Go under bargain or specials and there is usually several free books. They change every month or so. If you still don't see it, let me know and I'll try to clarify more.

message 440: by Lindsay (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments The Crown Conspiracy - Michael J. Sullivan

The second book in the series, Avempartha, was recommended by the author's wife, and is free on Kindle. Although she said it stood alone, I decided to read the first book first.
