Elvia (elvb) Thanks Jackie! lol Glad I'm not the only one.

message 52: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jnhart) Right now, reading [image error] and Trick of the Light (Trickster, #1) by Rob Thurman

message 54: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I am super proud of myself for the amount I have read this year so far. 12 books in a month is spectacular for me! Anyway I have finished The Thirteenth Tale only moments ago and I have picked up Definitely Dead. I'm still reading A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1) as well.

message 55: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Finished Conspiracy Theories & Secret Societies For Dummies and found it enjoyable. It kept getting better and then it was over.

Now I'm reading Have I Got a Guy for You: What Really Happens When Mom Fixes You Up. It's been a long time since I read a book that made me laugh.

message 56: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) I just finished Graceling! Ah... it was amazing!!! Not sure what I'm going to read next

message 57: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Enjoying The Darkest Kiss but have one problem with it. It repeats his/her thoughts...a lot. I know how you feel...you do't have to keep telling me...over and over and over again.

message 58: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (ontariogal) | 47 comments Michelle, what did you think of The Thirteenth Tale? I read it recently too, so it's pretty fresh in my mind.

I am reading currently reading Egg on Mao, as well as trying to get through A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon - - soooo long! But I want to keep reading the series, as I've read the others up to now. I mostly read fiction but I like to through in a non-fiction here and there, hence Egg on Mao. It is interesting so far.

message 59: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) I left A Breathe of Snow and Ashes a quarter of the way through. I couldn't deal with all the detail for some reason. I loved the rest of the books, but I felt with that one she bogged it down with stupid everyday tasks that were pointless.

message 60: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (ontariogal) | 47 comments TOTALLY agree, Jackie. My hubby keeps telling me to give up too, because I complain about the same thing. He's dubbed the book 'A Breath of Slow as Asses'. I just want to finish the darn thing so I haven't missed anything. But do I really need to know every teeny detail of every day???

message 61: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) LMAO! Do you mind if I borrow that title? I have a reading partner here on GR for the Outlander books and we both gave up. At some point we're going to try it again, so we'll see if we make it the second time around. I really love Galdbaldon's writing but she does seem to get carried away with the detail. How many times does Claire need to dream about hot and sweaty Jaime? Enough already...plus they're up there in age so it's not as sexy anymore. lol.
Even for The Fiery Cross the story didn't really pick up to page 400.

message 62: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (ontariogal) | 47 comments Borrow away! Yeah, The Fiery Cross was the first of hers that took me a while to get through. The rest I flowed through like water. Glad to hear it wasn't just me!! Maybe it is their ages, I don't know.

I also had to restart this one. The big thing getting me through it is that I read it each night, at least ten (trying for 20 or so) pages. I do have to say, there have been parts that were very interesting, with the intrigue like the other books. The parts are there, honest!! I got around halfway through and started to get really interested, although there are still slow parts. I've got just over 200 pages left now.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 188 comments I am reading Cooking Up Murder by Miranda Bliss - 1st in the cooking class mysteries. Its okay, but with an ameteur sleath, you HAVE to buy into the motive for investigating, and this one I just havent. A few times I wanted to smack the women and say you arent that stupid are you?

message 80: by stormhawk (new)

stormhawk | 1184 comments I ended up watching Prince Caspian yesterday, and am off on a Narnia kick. I am one of those people who believe they should be read in publication order rather than story order, so I am starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

message 81: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (psyko_kittie12) | 398 comments I am readingA. Lincoln by Ronald C. White Jr. It is good and interesting, but I feel like I am never going to finish it becasue it is so long!

message 83: by Erin L (new)

Erin L (wellreadmoose) I just finished My Life in France last night, I'm halfway through Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and really enjoying it (how slow am I??) and I'm working my way through Undead and Unwed which is interesting but somewhat hard for me to get into. I'm really trying to get into this paranormal craze, but I don't know.

message 84: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (ellenpenleysmith) ~♡Katie♡~ wrote: "i have now started to read The Summoning"

I love that series! But I will admit the first book isn't nearly as good as the second one!

message 85: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ just finished Angela Knight's Guardian a wonderful paranormal series and starting Christopher Fowler's Seventy-Seven Clocks a demented serial killer mystery.

It was a good read. Not exactly what I expected, but I did enjoy it. Loved the historical aspect. I understand there's a movie coming. I'm afraid Hollywood will ruin it, but I'll likely watch it anyway, lol.

message 94: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Hornsby | 25 comments I just finished The Road, and I'm about 5 chapters into The Red Tent. I like it so far, its definitely a book for women (and some men if they can handle it). I'm also going to start The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory tonight.

Lisa | 617 comments Jo wrote: "I'm reading Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream"

My boyfriend and his best friend LOVE this book, and worship Hunter S Thompson. Personally I only thought it was all right, maybe I need to give it another shot though.

message 97: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 617 comments Invisible Monsters. Still trying to finish Nights at the Circus as well, but I needed somthing else for the train to work yesterday.

message 98: by BK (new)

BK Blue (paradoxically) Invisible Monsters is awesome. I also hope you enjoy it.

Right now I am going crazy because I started to read 5 books at once; I couldn't make up my mind. I am making myself settle on When Will There be Good News?, with occasional breaks into Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass.

message 99: by LaTrica (new)

LaTrica Just started Hard To Handle by Lori Foster. I liked another book I read of hers but am always wary of mystery mixed with romance.
