I love Kay Hooper, but I couldn't get into Blood Sins. I was bored, and ended up putting it down. How far into it are you? Does it get better?
I'm reading The Lost Hero, and liking it so far!

I just finished it today. The ending was anticlimactic but the story as a whole got SOME questions answered. I was disappointed that you knew from the beginning who the bad guy was. I might suggest just skipping to the last two chapters before reading the next one. Just so you know what's happening! lol
I'm now going to start The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror. I think it's a good start to the holidays.

Now it's a toss up between Succubus on Top and Blood Ties (Blood, #3)....can't decide.

I'm just starting The Titan's Curse

I *WAS* reading "The Drawing of Three" by Stephen King, his 2nd Dark Tower book. That took some getting used to but ultimately was a THRILL of a book!

I just finished book three of The Riyria Revelations, Nyphron Rising, and am starting on Book One of George RR Martins Song of Fire and Ice, A Game of Thrones, to get ready for the HBO Series.

You should read the next series too,

Now I'm halfway to the end of

I just started Storm Front by Jim Butcher, so I'm finally getting to read a Dresdan novel and can't wait to see how it goes.

I've read Mockingjay. What do you think about it? What did you feel after reading the book?

I've just started reading The Magicians Assistant by Ann Patchett. It's a bit slow at the moment but i'm hoping the story will pick up as i carry on reading.

• Witch of Portobello
• Jacob
• Anna Karenina
• Welcome to Temptation

Boneshaker (it's surprisingly a really good steampunk book and it's the first book of a new series)
and
The City of Ember (it's pretty good... it's kind of slow right now... granted i'm only halfway through but I do get a sense of good build up into something that might be HUGE at the end.... I like it enough to keep reading...)

The South Beach Diet book because I want to start it again on the first.
"Willow" by Julia Hoban. It is about a teenage girl who was responsible for the accident that killed her parents and how she reacts to it and deals with it. I am only a couple of chapters in but so far it is really good.
"Colonel Roosevelt" by Edmund Morris. I love history and this book has a lot of good information. It is a large book so I will be reading it for a while.

a newbie here
am reading towers of trebizond by rose mcaulay and camel by robert irwin. (a review in tls?? prompted latter and a chapter in it prompted former). both quite interesting! first is alternately lol funny and latter is very erudite and fascinating.

This will probably end up being my last book of 2010, although The Angel of 1776 is pretty short and I could finish it before I head out to the party tonight.
Happy New Year, everyone!

I just got a Kindle for Christmas and am loving it. I just finished Kissing Frogs in Cyberspace...so funny and great read. I'm starting Room next. Anyone read those yet? Room was kind of pricey but ...what are you going to do...

Oh definitely not, :) I like to read like that all the time, and having different genres going at the same time lessens the confusion and gives variety.

I thought East of Eden was AMAZING! Glad you're enjoying it!

I read Watership Down quite a few years ago and loved it. I had forgotten about it until I saw your post. I believe I read it around the same time I read James Herriott's veterinarian books, including All Things Great and Small. Another great read, along with others in a series by him.
I'm reading Shiver and Paranormalcy. I've actually started listening to paranormalcy on audio book right before bed, and it helps me fall asleep!
So far, I think that both are good. I'm a little disappointed that I have to wait for the next book in the paranormalcy series though...
