Jenna (bookworm12186) lol. perhaps I will. I find myself a big dork. Discussing books and sci fi tv all day and reading..haha.

Jenna (bookworm12186) SO who saw the new episode of Fringe? God brilliant this time. I liked how they incorporated more other the real dimension in Fauxlivia's dimension. Loved the kiss at the end, with the apparition of Peter..not for the girlie oh that cute reasons, because she's starting to be pulled back into the right direction. And her Faux Partner also sees the difference...im wondering if he will be a grounding force for her, helping her. Now im excited to see what will happen in the original dimension next week with Fauxlivia...come on Peter! See it! lol. I didnt think Olivia and Peter would have such chemistry at first season one, but then saw it immediately. Go pacey haha..i mean Peter. :) I actually like Joshua Jackson. Great in Shutter.

message 203: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Shutter was a really ood moive, a lot better than i thought it would be.

I'm pleased Olivia's mind is sending her subconscious messages, she's going to figure it out. Her partner (forgot his name, with the snakey things inside) thinks something is up with her. The BF, I think he's part of it and will rat on her once he's sure she's getting her real memories back.

I like how they're going back and forth between the universes.

i like the original way Fringe was, but this does ad a new layer to its plot.IDT the bf is part of it because not even her partners at fringe know. but we will see where it goes.

message 205: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Part of me thinks he's there to spy on her.

message 206: by Jenna (new)

Jenna (bookworm12186) Hmm well hes leaving so I dont think so.I do think she is actually going to realize Peter is her's not Fauxlivia's bf, and that when they try and get her to cross over it will backfire. And then she and her team and peter will reunite.

message 207: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) They'll definitely reunite...or we'll have anarchy with the fans, LOL

Oops, I forgot the BF is leaving.

Yep yep he is gone. When do you think the cab driver comes back into play or do you since we see Fauxlivias partner seeing signs ?

message 209: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) I don't know when the cabbie will come back but I'm sure he will. I'm hoping it's soon.

**Contains Spoilers***

I was out of town and have finally caught up on my shows. Thank goodness for the DVR.

So what is the deal with ballpoint pens? Why doesn't anyone use them anymore in alternate world. Interesting trigger for setting off a series of events used to murder someone.

I think faux Charlie knows!

I loved the kiss at the end too. How could you forget that?

I'm a fan of Joshua Jackson too. Did you happen to see what he did at Comic-Con in San Diego. He came as Pacey. Pretty funny.

Do you watch Stargate Universe or Caprica?

Absolutely! Total scifi geek here.
SGU is awesome, so dark for a 'gate' show. Caprica's interesting, it's not BSG but I still like it a lot. It has great potential.

I miss BSG. I was totally addicted to it. My son lives in Seattle and they are opening an exhibit at the SciFi Museum on October 23rd. He watched them deliver a one of the vipers for the exhibit. He works nearby.

SGU is definitely dark. I wish they would add a bit more to their story lines, you can only have them trapped on a planet or nearly out of food so many times. I think there are some things coming to make it more interesting. Being stuck on a ship far from home does have its limitations but could have some creative possibilities too. I need to watch tonight's episode. I had a meeting :/

message 214: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) I'm completely addicted to BSG. What a truly outstanding series. Over the summer I did a marathon, the entire series plus specials and webisodes in 6 days. My ass hurt for a week from sitting on the couch so long, LOL

I would love to see the SciFi Museum. Who's viper? I'd like to see Starbuck's or Adama's old one (Cornhusker).

Yes yes on your assessment of SGU's storylines. Watch tonight's episode, some interesting things are happening and coming up.

message 215: by Christine (new)

Christine That's pretty much how I did BSG too. I felt like I was living and breathing the whole thing and then it was over. I had serious withdrawals.

Don't know about whose viper it is but I will find out. The museum is very cool. I spent hours there. One of the cool things about it was all the old sci-fi books.

SGU will have to wait til tomorrow as will Caprica.

No i dont. I dont have cable I watch online. I watch Fringe, CSI, Glee, Top Model, 90210 when im bored cuz its stupid....used to watch Ghost Whisperer, and Bones. Mostly Fringe, Bones, and CSI.

message 218: by Jackie (last edited Oct 13, 2010 08:43AM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Christine,
I watched BSG originally in it's weekly format and would go crazy for the next episode. It was such a phenomena, people speculating what's going to happen after each episode. I really miss that excitement as well as BSG itself.
I bought the entire series after it became available. Now I'll do a yearly marathon, just like I do for LOTR.

That vid was awesome! I forget how fantastic the music is too. I have all the music too, a BSG friend sent it to me as a gift.
Will you be going to the exhibit? I wish I lived on the West Coast just for this event. OK, and ComicCon too. It would make uprooting my family SO worth it, LOL

Here's more info if anyone's interested: http://empsfm.org/exhibitions/index.a...

message 219: by Christine (new)

Christine Jackie,

I watched the original series when I was a teenager but I have to say that the new one was sooooo much better. I missed out on the excitement between episodes. I think I will buy the complete series and do it again. A once a year marathon is a great way to get a fix.

Yes, I will be going up to Seattle for the exhibit. I live near San Francisco and my son lives in Seattle so any excuse to visit is good.
I'm glad you liked the trailer. The music got me too! So did your friend make you a playlist or was it a CD? One of the things I found so striking about BSG was when they were in space there was no sound. It was always so haunting. I also loved the spiritual part of it.

My goal is to go to ComicCon in summer 2011.

message 220: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Christine,
Oh that is fantastic! I wish I could go with you. My husband and son aren't into scifi so they'd never agree to go wit hem.

I wasn't home much when the original series aired, I may have seen an ep or two but I can't remember back that far. I did try to watch a few eps when scifi channel ran a marathon but it was after the new one and the old one just didn't do it for me. Same with V, scifi ran a marathon and 30 minutes in, I stopped watching. It's amazing what our CGI technology can do for a movie or TV series.

The new series rocked my world.
Bear McCreary is an awesome composer. Very dramatic music in BSG. And I liked the quietness of space also, something you rarely see, or should I say hear, on movies or TV series. Always the background music going.

What did you think of the final episode?
I totally loved it. A lot of people didn't. I saw it as everything coming full circle, which was a major theme throughout BSG.

Before I completely hijack this thread, I'll send more in a PM.

Carol Neman | 118 comments Plasborgma the trend setter...can I rent the first seasons of Fringe? Netflix...the public library? I think I just found a wonderful timesaver, no more having to wait for those pesky viewing times to roll around, just watch episode after episode...Is it on You-Tube yet???

message 230: by Jackie (last edited Oct 19, 2010 11:27AM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) I'm sure Netflix has it. It'd depend on if your library gets a lot of TV series. My doesn't.
Once you're caught up, you can watch full episodes of the current season (3) on www.hulu.com

Yes, Netflix has both seasons 1 & 2 available. See Jackie's comment above about it being at the library. As for YouTube, I have no idea, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could find at least a few of the episodes there.

message 235: by Jackie (last edited Oct 19, 2010 06:13PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) It's probably why I'm such a fan of time travel novels; they get to spend time in other eras and come back the moments after they first left. If I got to time travel, I'd take books with me so I can read while away and come back to the present with the memory of the books I just read and still have the present time to read more.

Everyone says how Fringe keeps getting better - which may be true, but there are still some very good episodes in Season One. I especially enjoyed the Mr. Jones Episodes such as Episode 7: In Which We Meet Mr. Jones and Episode 14: Ability. The Season One Finale, Episode 20: There's More Than One of Everything was of course very good.

Another I liked from Season One was where Olivia and Peter were part of a an undercover negotiation - I can't remember which episode it was but I rather liked that one. With The X-files, I found myself preferring the stand-alone episodes over the mythology episodes but with Fringe - it's the opposite.

message 237: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) When I say Fringe gets better I don't mean to negate the awesome episodes that came before. Not at all. What I mean is, when you see an episode and think 'it can't get better than this', they do you one better and blow you mind all over again.
The whole series is outstanding.

But I sort of...accidentally...kinda erased the first episode. :( And not just with Fringe, several other shows too. So, here's hoping episode one of season 3 is out there somewhere...

The one that really blew my mind was the 2-part Season two Finale episodes called Over There. The day after I watched those, I could not stop thinking about what had happened.

Those guys are freaky and I can't stand spicy food. I am like Jocko when it comes to spicy food.

Didn't those albino watchers claim that little ancient boy that they found in that old building during season one? It seems like the episode ended with the boy being driven away with the watchers. I wonder if that little guy will show up again.

message 250: by Jackie (last edited Oct 20, 2010 10:55PM) (new)

Jackie (thelastwolf) Dustin,
I'm beginning to suspect that you want to be Jocko! LOL

I don't remember about the little boy, you'll have to refresh this poor memory. I watched Season One on DVD so lots of back to back eps. Makes it too easy to forget.

I was freaking out at the Season Two finale. That's exactly what I mean about blowing your mind over and over again. The best part is that Fringe is not predictable, literally anything can happen and usually does.
