Good Morning everyone!

The weather is gorgeous today and I'm taking my daughter to see a theatre production of Munsch Muddles! Have a great day!

message 953: by [deleted user] (new)

How beautiful, Laura! It is rainy and chilly here today, so that helps.

I got off early from jury duty -- yay! I wasn't selected for the panel of 24, but I had to wait in court until they selected the final 12. :)

message 954: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay for no jury duty!

I may faint from shock...it's 62 degrees. I actually see my tulips starting to show.

message 955: by [deleted user] (new)

We are supposed to hit 63 by Friday, I hope. Cold and drizzly here and the flooding has already begun. I can see my daffodils!! :)

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 529 comments Fifty-nine here. Our daffodils have been blooming for a couple of weeks, though. (Welcome to the sunny South!)

Mary | 245 comments Happy St. Pat's everyone!!

No tulips or daffs here yet but I can finally see the snowdrops and crocuses!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Oh, to be able to enjoy crocuses! (The rabbits love them in Iowa.)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) After a gazillion pinches as a kid, I never forget to wear green on 3/17.

My crocuses never survive either, Jeannette...rabbits, deer, etc.

To you too! I'm not really a big fan of St. Pat's day just because we don't do anything for it. Benjamin has his groups at the school today though so I remembered to put him in green.

No crocuses in Dundas and Ancaster yet, but I've seen the first snowdrops. It always amazes me, how late they arrive in North America. In Western Europe, we used to get them in February (although, with this year's cold winter, they might be a bit later as well). I've also seen the first red-winged blackbirds and the raccoons and squirrels are busy, busy, busy.

Wow Laura, that's gorgeous!!

Been doing other things so I missed the teeth conversation! Hope your daugter is better Christine. My son had only milk teeth pulled out, fortunately, but the last one came out just a few months ago, really late (he's 12). Just 6 months to go on the braces... He'll be glad to have them off his teeth, and I will be glad to stop paying the bills!!

Spring is finally coming along here. But still a little chilly.

Happy St. Pat's to everyone. Not a big day here in Italy... the 19th is San Giuseppe (St. Joseph's) which is Father's Day here and gets more "air time".

message 964: by Joy (new)

Joy | 314 comments I bought some daffodils at the store and added them to some mums I had. I can't believe I never bought daffodils before - they smell and look wonderful! I love Spring :)

message 965: by [deleted user] (new)

I love Spring flowers! The robins were back last week and the cedar waxwings (they migrate through). We also saw huge (hundreds) flocks of Canada geese heading north!

Hannah (hannahr) Hi everyone :)

I found this article from the Daily Mail Online (UK) of some recently unearthed photos of London compared to the same areas today. Very, very cool!

Enjoy:

That's really cool, Hannahr! I bought my mother a book like that which was all photos of Paris (past and current). It's so interesting!

I love stuff like that, Christine, and will say that looking at the architecture of then and now I prefer "then" (although I do prefer the modern conveniences like indoor plumbing, electricity, etc.)

Jeannette, I didn't recognize you! Haha! I'm in such a habit of looking at the picture more than the name.

We're testing today so hopefully my kids will be done early. I am almost done with Saving Ceecee Honeycutt A Novel by Beth Hoffman . I want to start gardening, but we're supposed to get a freeze tonight.

There are a few people who change their photos on a regular basis, so I got inspired! (I got younger, too!) Are you doing standardized testing today?

message 973: by [deleted user] (new)

No, just end of the unit stuff. Emma sends everything in through email for grades, and she has 3 quizzes due. Benjamin sends his stuff in by mail, but I try to keep them on the same schedule.

message 974: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 19, 2010 07:19AM) (new)

Which school are you working through? Calvert?

I changed my photo again, this is my picture for Spring! :)

Yes, we are using Calvert.

Oh. I read that book The Girls from Ames: A Story of Women and Friendship. A friend who'd won it at the Goodreads First Reads program mailed it to me after she read it so I could read it as an advance copy.

Have you read it? If so, what did you think?

Hmmm, it's close between the two. I'll just lump all of Comfort Reads into my favorite category, then I can learn what chocolate covered insects are yummiest and talk about books too.

message 993: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey! It was so nice yesterday and now I have snow! What gives?

message 994: by Manybooks (new)

Manybooks All our snow is gone, but I, for one, am not sure that this is the end quite yet. I know that there is a saying in Canada that one should not set out any flowers etc. until after the Victoria Day Weekend (end of May), and I remember on year in Calgary (1986) where we got so much snow in the middle of May, that some kids around Red Deer were riding their horses to school because the busses and cars could not get through in rural areas.

It is still officially winter until tomorrow. Our last frost date is usually Mother's Day, around May 10.

We have a super fun day of errands planned. There's some indoor soccer going on right now which is demolishing my living room and hopefully I will finish reading the longest book ever!

I hope you all have a great day~!
