Skunk is an acquired "taste". I knew someone who liked skunk, and gasoline -- neither of my favorites.

And skunk, if really intense, actually smells a bit like very badly burned rubber with a hint of gasoline. One of our dogs got into a skunk once and then h ran into the house and wiped his snout on the living room rug (I could see why he would do that but the house stank for ages and poor Kipper was not happy about having to sleep in the barn for a week).
I hate skunk smell. I haven't seen too many here in Iowa, but we had quite a few in Michigan, where I grew up.

I do too, not nice at all and very intense. Last year, a skunk sprayed my garage door, yuck.

Jeannette, I am looking forward to gardening soon!

We've started spring cleanup, when it isn't blowing 40mph. It is so different living in the Plains. I never realized how windy it is.
You need to move back to civilization, Gundula! ;)
I'm going out to lunch today with a friend -- I better get dressed! Have a great day everyone. Hope the baby gets better soon.

My 23 year old daughter ran for cover when she learned I joined Twitter! :)

Shawn, she is the exact age of my daughter. I haven't confessed to mine that I joined Twitter.
Then we'll keep it our secret. :)
I'm not surprised! ;) (just kidding)
Ha! I know it's a bit weird but I find the smell oddly comforting.
Maggie is great! I found her upside down on the couch this afternoon (resting on her head) and suggested that she get down. I think the collar makes her feel safe. Eeeeek!

Kids are so resilient! But, probably not a good idea to be resting on her head that way!
No kidding! She just about gave me a heart attack. When that thing comes off I will be watching her like a hawk!

Hopefully they'll give her exercises to strengthen her neck, and prevent future occurrences. You two are so sweet!
Well, I'm taking her out of gymnastics for the rest of the year. She has so much energy that I will be looking to channel it in other directions. :-)

I'm glad to know. What about jump rope? That's relatively safe, I think.
Yes, that's an idea. She has one around here somewhere. I'm considering soccer for the running factor but I'm not sure.

Won't she do any physical therapy?

Swimming is a great idea! We used to go every weekend but since we moved we haven't gone once. We'll have to reintroduce that into the routine.
And the PT will tell you what to avoid, too, so you'll know what to worry about and what not! How long until the brace comes off?
It might come off this coming Thursday when we go back to the hospital but they may want to keep it on a little longer. I'm not sure.

I hope the brace comes off on Thursday. Good luck from me as well, and I hope you find some fun activities for Maggie. Swimming might be fun, there might even be things like aqua aerobics or water games being offered (I know, it always takes ages to get back into routines after a move). Hope you have a fun weekend :-)
Thanks Gundula, I'm hoping the spring weather will come and STAY soon. We keep getting hints of it and then it gets cold again. I would like to get out and dig around in the garden and spend some more time outside as a family.

The weather is coming around here, too, Jeannette. We had rain this morning, but it looks like it's clearing now. Last few days have been 70. Yay!
Still chilly here, and overcast. Shopping on the agenda for today, after a TKD belt test for my two kids. :)
How did the belt test go?
It's "Massive Headache Sunday" for me today. Oh goodie. I feel like I celebrate this particular event way too often.
Trying to pick another book. This will be difficult after reading one that blew me away. I feel sorry for the next book. There is so much to live up to. I bet my books are all trying to hide because they don't want to be that book.

I text my sister-in-laws for most of our communication. It has decreased the drama a gazillion percent (which has improved my sanity) and it's also the best way to get quick responses from them. I love it. I also text with the baby's momma when I am babysitting. It is the easiest way to keep in touch without disturbing her at work. I used to hate texting, but I find it very helpful now.

Headache right after a great book -- the other books will be pushing a "victim" forward on the shelf! Sorry you have to spend Sunday with a killer headache. It's warm and muggy here today, so we'll be back out in the yard cleaning away last year's debris.
Test went well, but it was too long and too hot. Lea's sparring partner kicked her in the ribs (accident, even when they instruct "no contact"). She and her dad didn't break the 2 boards they were set to break, because they were dead tired by then! But, I got pix this time on my new camera. :D
Feel better, girlfriend! What did you think of my Zamboni haiku? I don't think you'd want a migraine haiku -- but I may get inspired again....

I'm having the same problem and it's been days! Can't get into anything else, yet.
I may take a day to digest my last book and pamper my headache. Tomorrow I'll hit the bookshelves.

yes, pamper your headache. You have been getting quite a lot of these lately, be sure to do something nice and relaxing today :-)
I have a massive headache today as well - I think it is the changing weather. Also, trying to get the energy to bath my two dogs....they are hoping I change my mind!

Weather can really give you headaches. We had a thunderstorm this morning, and I'm hoping I don't get one :-)
If you have a headache, maybe you should relax instead of bathing your dogs (both your head and your dogs will likely thank you).
Gundula, my dogs think you are a very clever person.

I hope all you comfies had a great weekend! I spent many hours in the garden today doing some very therapeutic digging and pulling out roots. It was great but now I'm already sore!

Shelley - To bathe dog today even with H/A!
Kathy - Weeding out 250 or 300 books (ALL AT ONE TIME!!) Tell me you have read them.
Maggie - getting better - YEAH!
Lee - in the garden, weeding, digging - SORE!
SPRING IS HERE!!!
Spring is definitely getting here! Yay! Great weather to dig in the dirt!
