Jeannette, I sure hope your brother has a complete recovery and gets the hospital stay he needs this time. They sure do want to kick patients out quickly these days.
Yeah. Such a turn around time! It will be nice to see him again. :)

I understand not keeping patients in hospital beds too long, but many hosipitals sure do tend to release patients too early at times, especially after major surgeries (and, that is not saving money, but ends up costing more, because more often than not, patients end up being readmitted, sicker than before). I hope that this time, Jeannette's brother will be released from hospital "when" he is ready to be released, and not before. Hospitals are not assembly lines, and patients who have had major surgery need to be monitored.
Jeannette, I'm glad L will be with you. You three girls have a few cupcakes for me! I hope your brother is okay.
Thanks, Lee! I might bring a cupcake home for dad, maybe. :P

I am having a terrible time getting things accomplished this week, ah!!! Jeannette, please excuse my house because it'll probably be a pit tomorrow. Must. Mop. Floor.....Must. Leave. Goodreads.
I just posted a picture of Miss Jeannette meeting Dixie. It was very fun meeting her this morning. She's very funny and sweet.
Thanks for coming, Jeannette!
ETA: what was the title of that book you bought, Jeannette?

Great picture! It's so cool that you two got to meet!
We skipped the cupcakes though and went for the sweet shop instead. The cupcake place was crazy expensive!
The sweet shop was wonderful and reasonably priced! The coffee was good. I hope Christine enjoyed it -- I made her sit outside, and it was a bit chilly. Christine's town has a great downtown district. And, I got to meet Christine's two best girls! They are both sweethearts!
I loved meeting you! How is your brother doing?
He is finally home, and now he just has to get well. He had a big hassle on the day he was sent home, and got home really late. We spent the afternoon at his house on Saturday.
I caught up with an old friend Saturday evening and we spent the night at her house. It was a great road trip! Thanks for spending the morning with me. :)

Thanks -- all of you comfy friends! I think he'll be okay. It has inspired me to get to work on staying healthy. He's only 63, and he's not ready to give up yet!
Hi, it's just me saying a quick hi. I'm having a really rough week, and also making no progress on my book. :(
I hope that everyone is doing well, and I hope to catch up soon.

I'm on my third book this week -- I hope this one is a keeper! Hope things get better for you by the weekend. I hope no one is ill!

I liked Case Histories too and I keep meaning to read more by her. I think it's part of a series right?

I loved her standalone book (which many don't like) Behind the Scenes at the Museum.

There is a third book with the characters as well. When Will There Be Good News?

I really liked that one and Case Histories. I was not crazy about One Good Turn.

Where the heck is Jeannette? I am organizing a search party as we speak. I am packing all of my best stuff...muffin launcher, trap door, net-that-drops-as-if-from-nowhere, etc. Who is in?

I think maybe it's a different book. This one was just published 2 years ago, and it's the third in that series...?

You guys were talking about books on the chat thread -- one I haven't read. And, I was actually cleaning the house. But, here I am Christine! The muffins lured me over. :)
We are going out today to buy new tires for the car. *big excitement* But, tomorrow is the Main Street Open House. All the stores will be open and decorated and they'll have cookies! Someone figured out that holding this event on Thanksgiving weekend was not the smartest plan.

Tires.....wow, you are such a thrill seeker.
I'm watching the U of M lose to Wisconsin. Sadly, I would like them to beat Wisconsin.
ETA: Jeannette-Benj already read that book you suggested and liked it a lot!

I got new wiper blades, too! ;)
Sorry to hear that the one time you root for U of M they lose!
Glad he enjoyed the book, even if you had to take it back. I'll see what Lea remembers about her old favorites.

No, I mean that he read it right away this week. He didn't have it before....he just gobbled it up quickly.

Oh! I am glad he enjoyed it. The first two or three in the series were good.
I think I might bake some muffins now, too! I made oatmeal pancakes last week and they were delicious.

Gundula and Jeannette, please send the muffins by express mail after you bake them...I am hungry.

Mmm...the oatmeal pancakes sounds great Jeannette! How did you make them?
Good morning! I am headed to the grocery store...I'm scared. These weekend-before-Thanksgiving grocery trips can be dangerous. Wish me luck!
Good luck, Christine! Stay out of Wal-Mart, if you can! Of course, it is rather early, so I think you have a good chance. :)
Ronyell, I'll send you the recipe. It's from The Wooden Spoon Bread Book: The Secrets of Successful Baking.

Don't get into a fight for the last frozen turkey or the last package of cranberries (or, if you do, go all out).
And, sorry guys, my wild turkeys are off limits. I actually had someone knock on my door last Fall (even with no hunting signs posted everywhere) and ask wether he could hunt turkeys on my property. Well, at least he was polite, he did not make a fuss or become enraged when I said "no" (I've heard of other instances where that was not the case, where the so-called hunters became quite angry at the property owners).
Well, I hope everyone is going to have a good Thanksgiving next week, and that there won't be too much stress etc.
Great advice, Gundula! Go all out, Christine!
I'm glad people at least politely ask. That would be awful to wake up to see a hunter on your posted property, with a gun! I'm glad your birds are safe.
