I took Benjamin to see Megamind today, and it was adorable. I really enjoyed it, and he loved it.

So, it wasn't as weird as it looks?

It was so funny, Jeannette, I was pleasantly surprised.

Well, poop. My kids are sick again, but my daughter is really sick, and stressed out about it (she has OCD, the real kind not the kind that people like to say they have) which makes it a million times worse. I'm worried about her having a set back with that...ugh...bad Monday morning. I'm also feeling sick, which I am actually glad about because it will help me know what she is really feeling and what she may be convincing herself she is feeling.

message 5258: by [deleted user] (new)

Have you all got the flu? I hope you feel better, soon!

What happened on the bad Monday or is it just Monday in general?

Stay healthy everybody!

Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) | 174 comments I hope you and your daughter get better soon Christine! :D

Brenda | 286 comments I also saw Megamind and was very pleasantly surprised by the graphics some of the face shots of the characters looked so life like (even with the blue face) It was cute and my son enjoyed it. Hope you and your family are feeling better soon Christine!

No, it's not as bad as that. She just has blown it way out of proportion with worry. I am glad that I have it because I can tell that it's mild. BJ doesn't even seem to be too bothered, he is just complaining of headache and sore throat.

Don't even think you are getting out of cupcake time, Jeannette. I will be fine by Friday, promise!

message 5262: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, bad Monday....it was just the OCD junk, it was just a bad start.

message 5263: by [deleted user] (new)

You better be! I'm coming anyway!

My sister mentioned the flu being in her neighborhood, too. If they have to get sick, I hope they are over it by Thanksgiving. For a while there, someone had some nasty bug every time we came to visit. One year we barely managed the drive home! :(

It also had a better tone than some of these kids movies seem to have in my opinion. I'm glad you enjoyed it too.

I've never liked Mondays (You know that song by the Boomtown Rats, I also sometimes want to shoot the whole day down, I guess that dates me, anyone remember that song). I hope you and the kids get over their "bugs" soon, Christine (and that Emma stops worrying, but I know that is easier said than done).

message 5266: by [deleted user] (new)

Good morning everyone! Starting the day out with a visit to the dentist for a cleaning (yippee).

This afternoon we get to select the graduation pictures!!

Have a fine day!

Good afternoon Jeannette and all you other comfies! It's a lovely day here in southern Ontario, the sun is shining and we're off to the library to pick up books and movies.

I hope your teeth are sparkling Jeannette!

Hi comfies! I've been running around trying to do things today, but it seems like I haven't gotten much done. I'm like a hamster in a wheel. I should have just grabbed some tea and done some reading.

Both kids are feeling better today. :)

I bet you check those books carefully, eh?

message 5271: by [deleted user] (new)

I am glad the kids are feeling better, and you, too, Christine! My teeth are sparkly and my wallet is empty. Senior pictures are expensive!!$$$$ But, she is so lovely! *sigh*

Hope you enjoyed the new library Lee! Nice to see you over here, Ronyell! :)

Manybooks This morning, I had at least 30 wild turkeys in my front yard, I have never seen such a large flock. I got some bookshelves today, so I hope that I will not be tripping over my books anymore (the only books stacked on the floor now are my library books).

Do I get to see proofs on Friday?

message 5274: by [deleted user] (new)

That must have been an awesome sight, Gundula!

We don't get proofs anymore, Christine. :( They put 40 pictures up on a screen and you go through them, pick your faves, and pay!! We'll get the photos in 6 weeks. There will be a slideshow on Facebook. If they are up, I'll show you. :)

message 5280: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 4 comments At Home in Mitford is one of my all time favorites, and I've listened to the audio version 4 times. If I'm driving somewhere and need to destress, listening to this book is so soothing.

message 5281: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (readr4ever) | 1853 comments Just a quick hello. I've been busy with my mother-in-law, who has been in the hospital and had back surgery on Monday. We are bringing her home today and she is doing great. She is 82 and amazing. She had bone spurs and a ruptured disc. I can't believe how she is up and around and the only restrictions are that she can't drive for a couple of weeks or lift anything heavier than 8 pounds for 6 wks.

Congratulations on the book shelves (and the turkeys-lol), Gundula. I bought some storage tubs last night to box up old paper items from my kids' childhoods, so that they can have them and decide what to do with them.

Good afternoon everyone!

Christine, I'm glad your kids are feeling better. My husband is sick and I won't go within 10 feet of him! I don't wanna get it!

Gundula, that's awesome about the wild turkeys. I would love to see that someday. We haven't seen hide nor hair of our little muskrat in the pond. I hope he's okay.

I diligently checked all my materials for damage and funny smells before I check them out of the library!

Kathy, I hope your mom in law is recovering well. :-)

Ronyell and Kathleen, it's nice to see you here on the chat!

I was surprised how many there were, usually there are about ten to fifteen, but there were more than thirty this time (and they were noisy).

Kathy, I can't believe your MIL is up and about already, that's amazing. I'm really happy with my bookshelves, but I actually need more (I have books in boxes still, that's what you get when you've got a serious book addiction and usually like reading obscure books). I've just received about six relatively heavy-duty intellectual books through ILL (some came from the University of Alberta, wow). Now, I know why I usually like to buy books, I have three weeks to read these and no renewals are allowed. Sigh, I miss being a graduate student, we were able to have books signed out for the entire term, I would have gone crazy if I had had to renew all of the books I was using as secondary material for my term papers etc. every few weeks.

Lee, I wonder if your little muskrat is hibernating, it is getting cold, and muskrats might be animals that hibernate (I'll check my guidebook tonight). Lee, do you think that your husband might have picked up whatever he's got from that "soaked" book? But, I think flus and colds are starting (gosh, I do hope they disinfect library books in the winter, especially the picture books, yuck).

Ronyell, good luck with the job interview, and I hope that Jeannette and Christine eat lots of cupcakes on Friday.

Jeannette, I noticed a few comments about you and Christine getting together this week. That's fantastic! I wish I could be there too! I hope you girls have a laugh and love each other in person as much as you do online. Are you nervous?

Gundula, the muskrat might be hibernating. I didn't think it was cold enough yet but I could be wrong. We've been having such nice weather lately.

I think my husband just got sick from someone in the office. I'm really much more grossed out by library books now since the incident. I almost want to wear gloves when I read a library book now.

Hi comfies! I've been out all day, but wanted to pop in quickly. Jeannette, I am so looking forward to Friday! Ronyell, Good Luck to you!

I watched my neighbor's baby again today. I love that little one! It's always a great way to spend the day.

message 5298: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh Jeannette, I got your message and I will meet ya' there then. Yes, there are places if you need to grab a bite. You'll see lots.

message 5299: by [deleted user] (new)

Not nervous at all, Lee! I am really looking forward to meeting one of my favorite comfie buddies. I wish we all lived closer.

After visiting Christine, I am headed to Ann Arbor to visit my brother. He's had quite a bit of heart surgery this week, and I haven't seen him in a while. Chicago is halfway there, and my sweet daughter is giving up her school trip to go with me. We've just got to find some good audiobooks for the trip!

message 5300: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh Jeannette, I missed that information about your brother earlier. I hope he's healing well, and I am sure that he is very happy that you are coming. And she's giving up her trip? What a wonderful kid!
