Jon (jonmoss) | 529 comments Yesterday, I finally finished Imager's Challenge (my review) which was a library book I've had checked out since before Thanksgiving.

I also read, yesterday, an ebook version of The Murders in the Rue Morgue as part of another reading challenge put forth by my local library, appropriately entitled Readers in the Rue Morgue since it's focus is mysteries.

I started reading The Master of Whitestorm and A Study in Scarlet (another ebook) yesterday as well.

Angela Sasser (angelarsasser) I'm going back to my roots and reading Kushiel's Chosen by Jaqueline Carey (along with the rest of the 1st trilogy, if time permits). I'm a little behind the times, but with the latest Naamah trilogy out, I need to get caught up!

I love Jacqueline Carey's books and her writing style, have fun! ALL of them are great and different reads from the "normal" fantasy "stuff"

A S Moser (asmoser) I am reading Orson Scott Card's Shadow Series (halfway through book four now):

Ender's Shadow
Shadow of the Hegemon
Shadow Puppets
Shadow of the Giant

They are fantastic.

And I plan on finally getting around to reading Elizabeth Haydon's The Assassin King

Joy (crowgirl) I'm on the second book by Gordon Dahlquist in his Victorian Steampunk series. I love it. I grew up with Sherlock Homes stories and Well's SyFy so this feels like home. Second book pub. in 2009 is: The Dark Volume.

When you finish SotG, check out Ender in Exile. It's promoted as Ender's missing story between Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead (which I thought was rather unnecessary), but it ties up some loose ends in the Shadow series as well (which was needed).

I haven't read a Carey book I didn't like. I'm particularly like an earlier work The Sundering. She is someone who can add erotic elements without them becoming just soft porn.

Angela Sasser (angelarsasser) Thanks Julie and Crowgirl! I'm always on the look out for more subtle fantasy and tasteful eroticism like Carey's work. Completely open to suggestions for future readings, if you have any! :)

I just finished Gordon Dahlquist second book in his Glass books series (mentioned above) and it has a fine underpinning of erotica. The Glass Books, created by alchemy, steal away people inhibitions and so creates a decadent Cabal of followers. The Victorian like heroine is torn between her new sensuality (after unintended exposure to the blue glass) and her upbringing. The sexuality is also not over done so the adventure stays the main core of the book.

Victoria Dixon (ronempressblogspotcom) Name of the Wind is awesome. I wonder if I have that on my list? Hmm. I understand the sequel is out, so that's one more to read. ;D

Roger (rogerbixby) Wise Man's Fear is not released yet, alas. Soon, I hope.
