Destiny (ladestinytwilliams) My favorite I've read in the last month is Revelations by Kate Brian. I didn't think I would like mysteries, but I'm hooked on this series.

bjneary | 236 comments I am loving Plague (Gone, #4) by Michael Grant in the Gone series and it is soooo good, always a little sickening (you have to read it) but you can't stop turning the pages.

Rebecca Burke | 4 comments I will never get Sammy and Juliana in Hollywood, by Benjamin Alire Saenz, out of my head. It's a fantastic YA(or any other type of!) read. Great characters, setting (poor barrio in NM in 1969--kids getting drafted into the Vietnam War, students going on strike against dress codes, folks ODing because they were so naive about the power of drugs like heroin), and dilemma--coming of age, when all around you people are dying. That said, there was great humor in the dialogue, which is a real primer in how to swear in Spanish!

Lj (ducharmenator) I read "Bumped" by Megan McCafferty, and really enjoyed it. Not a hard read, but it has an interesting premise and I am looking forward to book two coming out next year (I hope).

message 532: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (mrsuyhs) | 2 comments I recommend Twisted to every teen who comes into my library wanting a realistic book. One event can have such an impact on your life. I loved this book.
And the main character's best friend is named Yoda!

message 533: by bjneary (new)

bjneary | 236 comments I enjoyed Muchacho A Novel by LouAnne Johnson because Eddie Corazon's voice was funny, serious, and redemptive. Eddie falls in love with Lupe and changes his life from juvenile delinquent to reader, writer, poet, to someone who matters in this world. I especially enjoyed his poem, Veinte-Veinte Vision at the end of the book.
