Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments ayundabs wrote: "I'm currently reading The Star of Kazan. So far so good..."

Oh, I love that book. It's reminiscent of Frances Hodgson Burnett. I'm reading it aloud to my siblings. They like it, too. The writing is awesome, if a bit slow in parts.

Alright, peeps. Tonight, well, this morning I will be starting STRAY. I know it is on the possible list for the next read but is going to be due back at the library in 2 weeks. Of course I'll I jump in the chit chat if that book is picked. You don't have to ask twice.... LOL! (I guess I amuse myself at 1:30 in the morning.)

message 58: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments Just finished I Heart You, You Haunt Me. It was ok, I guess...

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm still reading Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent .

I'm also working on Bone by Fae Myenne Ng Funny in Farsi A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America by فیروزه جزایری دوما / Firoozeh Jazayeri Dumas .

Starting City of Ashes (Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare [image error] The Smoke Thief (Drakon, #1) by Shana Abé Gaviotas A Village to Reinvent the World by Alan Weisman

message 60: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments Reading Gaudy Night for school. The writing is great, but I don't like mysteries much.

message 61: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Tell me how it is, Jodan! I love reading a good mystery!

Currently reading: The Shapeshifters ( [image error] ) and Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul: The Real Deal: Challenges ( Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul The Real Deal Challenges Stories about Disses, Losses, Messes, Stresses & More (Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul the Real Deal) by Jack Canfield ).

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments Currently reading:
Princess Bride
Wings
Fairy Tale
The Ultimate Hitchikers Guide
Davinci Code

Yes all at the same time! I'm weird like that!

message 63: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Haha, if I read a bunch of books at the same time, I can only read up to three or I get to really confused. I finished The Shapeshifters earlier today.

message 64: by Eloradenin (new)

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments I have this uncanny ability to not get confused no matter how many books I'm reading...I tend to have 6 going at a time...I roll a dice to decide which one I'm going to read each day

message 65: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL, that sounds like a fun game! :P

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

message 78: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Haha, well then, I know what I want to read next...Although I might not be able to get it for a while.

message 79: by Eloradenin (new)

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments Why not?

message 80: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) B/c I have a lot of books that I got for Christmas and still haven't read and my mom won't take me to get new books until I finish these. That's fine w/ me, but I'm trying to reread some series (Harry Potter, Nancy Drew, Series of Unfortunate Events, etc.), which means that I can't just abandon the series or I'll have to start all over...again! :(

message 81: by Kate (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 225 comments I also like to read many books at a time, like Wlfgrl22, except that I read about 10 at a time. That way when one gets boring you can get into another one. If they all get boring, well, then you can start to read one that you've already been reading and maybe it won't be so boring and you'll be able to get back into it more. Does that make sense?

message 82: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) It does to me. I have a friend that reads like 3 books at once and switches back and forth depending on how bored she is with the plot.

message 83: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments I read books at the same time, too. But I read really fast and have been known to finish a book in one sitting.

message 84: by Kate (last edited Feb 12, 2010 02:11PM) (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 225 comments Yeah that's how I am but I do occasonally finish a book in one read/day, usually not though. It depends on school and my riding, but if it's really good I'll stay up all night to finish it.

message 85: by Eloradenin (new)

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments It makes perfect sense! The only reason I'm generally limited to 6 is because I roll a dice to decide which one to read each day, 6 sides = 6 books.

message 86: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Riding?

I sometimes stay up into the wee hours of the morning to finish a book as well. It really depends on the book though. I usually only spend extra time up if it's part of a spectacular series.

message 91: by Eloradenin (new)

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments lol unless she read for a long time since last night probably

message 92: by Kate (last edited Feb 12, 2010 02:24PM) (new)

Kate (katemreads) | 225 comments Riding as in horseback riding. I ride horses. And yeah same here, it has to be a really really good book for me to stay up all night. Those usually go on my favortie bookshelf.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL, true. Like she has told me very many times at school, she doesn't read unless she's really bored. She is usually on Goodreads. :)
