Hopefully my eBook reader and the fact that my daughter is now 2 will help me hit this goal. Haven't hit it for a couple of years now.

Sandra West Prowell, When Wallflowers Die.First book I read in this series. It was a bit hard to jump in mid stream. I'll have to read the first books in the series to figure out the back story.
I would have preferred if the lead was a bit more well rounded. I'm not sure why in a couple of these series it seems that a strong female lead needs to unable to connect emotionally. Her inability to turn off her smart-ass answers when things got tough with her family and romantic interests was grating.
A doozy of a mystery though, and a quick and enjoyable read.

Jodi Picoult, My Sister's KeeperLoved this book. Not my usual genre, but such a complex painful question. The ending was a bit weak for me. Given the subject matter and honesty portrayed in the rest of the book, it felt like a bit of a cop-out.
I agree with you about the ending of _My Sister's Keeper_. I even complained to the author about it on her website--if you're curious, it's www.jodipicoult.com. I also, in fairness, told her that I generally like her books a lot. She wrote me a nice reply.
I completely agree with you...it's the first time ever I've liked something about the movie better than the book! They changed the ending and it felt much more like it fit with the rest of the story than the neat little package she tied up in the end of the book.

James Patterson, You've Been Warned. This one was a bit out there for me, I generally enjoy his books, but wasn't really able to suspend disbelief and I'll count this one as a miss.

James Patterson, Roses Are RedI'm not sure I've read all the previous Alex Cross novels, so I've lost a bit of the back history, otherwise a perfectly fine read for a summer day.

David Baldacci, Last Man Standing.Definitely a long read, took me a while to get in to it.

Joy Fielding, LostDisappointing read, not really a believable main character, and ending was a disappointment. There were two points where the ending could have been saved and she missed both.

Amanda Boyden, Babylon RollingCould have done with a few more Shanes and a few less Prancies. There was too much to pack into this book, and you didn't get a good feel for the characters, just as they'd start to develop, the book would switch to a new voice. 300 pages for 5 main voices and almost a year is a lot of thin ground.

Dave Eggers, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius.A knew nothing of this book or author going in. Found it to be (as billed) a heartbreaking story, but at the same time, really tedious. I could see consuming it blog-like, over a period of time, but quite frankly, skimmed a bunch of it while trying to read it like a 'normal' book.

Chelsea Cane, HeartSick Interesting read, the character development leaves you wanting more. Which I guess is a good thing for a series. The characters didn't captivate me but the writing did.

Diane Mott Davidson, Double ShotSeemed to take a very light-hearted view of some serious topics (rape, spousal abuse) Nothing extraordinary in the story, but I would like to try a couple of the recipes.
