Darcy, have you read Bone Magic yet? I keep getting stuck than I re-read one or two Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich. For some reason I can't really get into Bone Magic, maybe its Camille's speechifying. I didn't have this problem with the other books in the series.

There was a lot of action, some secrets from Smokey, Camille goes back to the Otherworld and spends time with the Unicorns and has to do things she didn't think she would ever, like all the sisters have had to in the battle. This book was a little like a filler one as there was more about the back ground and more about the alliances the sisters were making.
Just finished
I thought it was pretty good. Will definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

I went to Walmart last night and got in the book section by accident and was astounded to see all these books you guys talk about for sale there. I'd been ordering them from Amazon.com or Audible.com if they're available in audio.
I guess! They even had a hardcover edition of Dead and Gone and I almost bought it! I just live in my own little world, LOL

Darcy - I liked Skinwalker! It was completely UF though, I think it's going to end up being a longer series with some love triangle's going on. But it was interesting that the characters were portrayed differently than in other books. Vamps had a different reputation, and Jane is a skinwalker which in this world is very rare. What she is, is sort of a mystery and she's really unsure as to what she is as well. The sequel is coming out this month, so if you are going to read it, you can read the second book right after.

I'm supposed to be reading Summer Knight for a challenge, and then also Deadly Desire. I just can't get myself to read either of them. I don't know why.
I am reading Unshapely Things, but it is starting out super slow. So I might give myself a day away from it. In the mean time I will try Norse Code.
I'm completely avoiding the books I said I would read lol. I just finished Some Girls Bite and I really liked it. So I'm starting right away on the sequel Friday Night Bites.
I think the Chicagoland Vampires series is a good one. Meritt just makes me laugh with her sarcasm.

Joyce, I enjoyed the Rachel Morgan series. Not in a *gasp! I've got to read the next one* way, but they were good.

Just finished On the Edge by Ilona Andrews. Being an author of twenty books, it's hard to find a book that sweeps me away. I don't know if it's because I see the devices and form so clearly or what. It's certainly not that I'm looking for flaws because being swept up is the reason I started writing to begin with. I want to do that to others. So for me to say a book swept me right up is saying a lot. On the Edge did that for me. I loved the concept, the narrow boundary between our world (the Broken) and the Weird, a world of magic. Rose is a great character who immediately tugs at you because she's taken on the role of raising her two younger brothers, both of whom have magic powers. They've all been abandoned by both parents, and she is struggling to make ends meet as well as not get kidnapped by those who want her for her special ability to flash deadly magic.
Enter Declan, who comes from the Weird to claim Rose as his bride. Stunningly handsome and sometimes a bit funny in his immodest assessment of same, he proves himself noble by protecting Rose and the boys. But there is more afoot than just his courting, and everything is at risk of being decimated by an even darker magic.
This book is a great romp, lots of action, magic, romance, and characters to root for. Andrews does a great job capturing it all, including the boys who just grab your heart.

I think the most important thing was all the alliances that were being made or changed.
I just finished Dark Nights, Dark Dreams: Sisterhood of the Sight by Savannah Russe and really enjoyed it. I'm now starting

Hehe, just read your first comment again. You did mention that :) It seems like Galenorn is setting up to write more than just the next book, I thought that there would only be the one more book in Menolly's POV and then the series would be over but I don't see that she good wrap everything up in just one more book.
I finished To Crave a Blood Moon bk 3 in the series it was good.Now i'm reading Three Days to Dead pretty good so far!

It would take a lot to wrap up things in 2 books and seem rushed.
I'm reading Pleasure. I read Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series and I enjoyed those but I just haven't been able to warm up to her Shadowdwellers. I'll finish Pleasure tonight. I'll probably start Hunting Julian next and I hope it's better than any of the Shadowdweller books.
Sandra and Darcy, just wanted to say I'm loving Dead Witch Walking. I love the world Kim Harrison has created. I read Unbound first which had a story about Jenks. I should have read that after Dead Witch but it didn't really spoil anything. I'm looking forwarding to reading all of her books that I currently have.

and really didn't think it was that great. I found the female character to be whiny and self depreciating and the male fae character to be mean and indecisive. He couldn't seem to decide if he wanted the girl or not, and then took out his anger about it on her. Anyway, I could only give it 3 stars. I'm now moving on to

I really liked Wraith and Spectre. I actually like her series better than the Kat Richardson series.
I'm almost done with Midnight's Daughter and am thoroughly enjoying it. One of my dogs woke me up in the middle of the night and after I got everyone settled down again I laid there thinking about the dinner at Radu's with the steak tartare and the butterfly/pear disaster and kept chuckling all over again. Priceless!

I'm starting to read Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair.
So far it's good! I'm not a big sci-fi fan, but Linnea's a friend of mine and I wanted to read her work. Do you all consider sci-fi romance paranormal? Just curious.

As an author, I'm always interested in what turns readers off.There are times when I really like the secondary characters more than the main ones, or I read the books just as much for them as the main one. A series that I read just as much for the secondary ones is the In Death Series by JD Robb. My favorite books are those where all the secondary characters are in them.
The Ghostwalker series is one that I am pretty much over the main couple of each book, I just am having a hard time buying into them falling into bed and then everything is good. But I love the longer arc of Whitney and what he has done to these people. With the couple of each book I do like to see what new talents or powers they have, but have not started to skim the romancy part. Although I will say the latest one was a lot better than the last 2.
Right now I'm reading Comanche Heart by Catherine Anderson right now. Then I'm probably going to read Soulless.
I'm still waiting for all the books I really want to read, so I've been going through the books I've put aside. Right now I'm up to: Matters Of The Blood by Maria Lima
