What are you reading right now? Part Deux!

I've never read her stuff, so I came with no preconceptions when I picked it up. I think the Zachary thing was a little strange with Logan still around, but I ended up liking the book a lot. I also liked that they were normal teenagers thinking about and planning on having sex, which is more normal than some of the other YA I've read where they're kissing and that's about it. This book didn't go into details and actually nothing much happened (kind of) but that's more normal than not. I know it was for me and overall I was the least whorish of my friends at that time. If it was like that when I was young, I'm sure (and from what my daughters say) it's even more so now and I liked that she made this more true to life in that respect. I'm planning on reading her WVMP books now because I liked this one so much.

Let me know what you think of Enemy Lover...I have this one in my TBR pile...

I know what you mean about a lot of the YA books not feeling "real" to me when it comes to sex. So many of them have characters that hold hands and kiss every now and then and that's IT??? Where are all the hormones?? It wasn't like that when I was a teenager! I think that's one of the reasons I liked SHIVER so much. They had SEX!!!

oh no doubt I remember as a teen being a raging hormone. These in these books are like stepford teens lol. I mean I understand the whole not promoting sex that young thing, but come one it's happening anyways, whether if you put it in the book or not.

You're both right and these books aren't promoting abstinence or aren't coming from a Christian bent, so why can't they be more true to life? Teenagers have sex especially when they are in love.
Melodie, I have Shiver on my request list at the library and have heard such good things about the book.

I ended up really liking it. It reads more like a romantic suspense than a PNR book, but the story is still a good one. I am hoping it is the start of a series, there is great potential with it.

I've decided maybe it's because cars just don't have much in the way of backseats these days??? LOL Carolyn, I hope you love SHIVER. I certainly did. It's one of the best books I've read this year.

Thanks Darcy! I will move it up in the TBR pile for the next batch of books ;-)

Can you tell me what Raised by Wolves is like? I was going to buy it, but I've read some really different reviews ranging from "Fantastic" to "a YA copy of Kelley Armstrong and Patricia Briggs!"

You won't be disappointed with Shiver for sure.

I've heard lots about Shiver, so next time I'm at the bookstore, its hopefully going to be in my bag on my way out!

Ellen - I really liked it. I can see where people compare this one to the other authors, there are hints of that, but the story was a good one. I would definitely tell people to check it out.

I thought UNDEAD & UNFINISHED just sucked!! I am SO done with this series!

I was going to be done until I read the ending. I have to know about what was revealed there. But I won't rush right out to get the book, or try to make sure that I am the first one to get it from the library.

Read Envy next! The books only get better and better (well, until the last one, that is).

Up next for me is

These should keep me out of trouble for a while. :)

I really enjoyed it, this is one of those books that I don't think I would have had the patience to read but loved listening to it. Audible only has the first book right now I am hoping the get the second one soon.

I just finished Enemy Lover and it really was more like a romantic suspense...I do hope she continues the story I want to know what happens next/now....

I know what you mean, the fact that he was a vampire was secondary, like he had brown hair or something equally innocuous. I do think there is potential for more books though.

That whole series gets better Nicole. The first book starts out slow but she does alot of the world building so then her other books can just flow.

I'm listening to this book too and it took me forever to stop having my mind wander. I had heard the narrator was good but maybe it's a better read then a listen to as least to me. I really enjoyed reading the book.
