I keep hearing bad things about this one. Let me know how it ends up.

Sarah | 766 comments Darcy, if you've heard the words "info dump," you've heard correctly. I think I'd like the story if I ever get there. I usually like Linda Howard, so this is weird.

I find she is very hit or miss for me. Those I like I really like, but the others are just stinkers.

That's surprising to hear!!! I think there's only been one book I haven't liked by her.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Jess wrote: "That's surprising to hear!!! I think there's only been one book I haven't liked by her. "

I think it is because I have been listening to some of her older ones lately. I grab the audios when I see them in the library as I know they are good ones to listen to around the house and you don't have to pay all that much attention.

message 1558: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I'm wondering if this is because the book is a collaboration between Howard and someone named Linda Jones. I don't know her. Maybe they didn't get the writing process/world building quite ironed out.

I have read other books where those 2 authors worked together and they were good. Maybe they were rushed this time around.

message 1560: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 766 comments I need to give it some more time before I can say if it just has a rocky start or isn't good altogether. Time will tell...

Yeah I'm a visual reader, I don't have the attention span of the audio books. But I do like this book, I love all the action in it, and I'm not just talking about the sex, or sexual tension.

So, of course, I'm reading the next in the Chess Putnam/Downside Ghosts series Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane

Both are unlike anything I've read. Excellent, gritty urban fantasy with a surprising heroine.

message 1583: by Yodamom (new)

Yodamom I just finished Blood Legacy The Story of Ryan by Kerri Hawkins Fantastic tale of Mystery. It felt like CSI meets vamp? A well respected research Dr. comes into contact with women/being that has some very odd test results, and brain waves a random heart beat but she's dead ? These test draw her into a world she could have never though possible before, challenging her every belief. The "women ?" has a long and dark past which she shares with Dr. the mystery gets deeper.....Written with intelligence with strong world building.
I can't wait for the next book in this trilogy
I finished Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon (YA) is is about Nick Gautier as a young teen when he first hooked up with Kyrian. It is full of snarky comments and background information on Ash, Kryian, Nick, his mother and some other squires. I loved it. Great for the Dark Hunter fan

If you like Quinn, don't skip. While he isn't always front and center, he is there and it makes it worth it in the end if you know all of their history.

message 1586: by Kathy Anne (new)

message 1590: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 7 comments Finished Unholy Magic (Downside Ghosts, #2) by Stacia Kane this afternoon. Wow, just wow. I'm so in love with this series. The ending was enough to make me pre-order the third book, City of Ghosts, immediately. (BTW, the love triangle gets revved up in the second book. Very tense.)

Not really help, just give you a little insight in what happened with Leslie after the book was done. I found I really liked Irial and Niall a lot more.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) | 672 comments I just finished listening to Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh and while it was an awesome book....I am pissed that I have to wait 8 months for the next book......(stomping foot)I keep telling myself to wait until a series is done before starting but I can't seem to help myself.....patience is not one of my virtues....

message 1598: by Anna (new)

Anna (aknas22) | 349 comments Finished Real Vampires Have Curves (Glory St. Clair, #1) by Gerry Bartlett and Legacy (Anna Strong, #4) by Jeanne C. Stein after getting side tracked from both.

ALso read Death Blows (The Bloodhound Files, #2) by D.D. Barant . I have mixed feelings about this book. I like the alternate universe thing and the vamps and were thing. The comic book thing though...there were too many long winded explanations about concepts and things.
