What are you reading right now? Part Deux!
I just read
and
. They were both just okay for me. I was excited about First Drop of Crimson, but I found Denise irritating. I REALLY LIKED
. Recommend moving it up those TR lists ;) I only got 3 hours sleep last night because of it lol
After finishing
, which I really liked, I'm now onto
my first book from this author. Really enjoying it. I'm once again jumping into the second (I think) book in a series, but this one is easy. Not a lot of backstory or arc going on. The last book I tried was so overwhelming with all of the various elements/creatures and backstory, I lost interest after 50 pages. Hate when that happens :/
Just finished
and I liked it. The story was a new take on the whole vampire gerne. Today I am going to start

Just an FYI, Dead Witch Walking ebook is being offered for free on bn.com as a promotion for Black Magic Sanction.http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Dead-Witch-Walking-Free-with-Bonus-Material/Kim-Harrison/e/9780062000644/?itm=6&USRI=kim+harrison

You do know that this is the first book in a series? There are currently 4 books, but it is unlikely that the author will ever finish the series. He keeps promising additional books, but I will believe it when I see it.
I just finished

and I'm a tad disappointed that there were so many questions left unanswered but I will still probably read the next book because I'm a glutton for punishment.Next up:
and then maybe

Yeah, but it's such a good book all by itself.

I hadn't planned on going to the library today, but when I saw what was waiting for me I made sure to go. You know it wouldn't want to wait. :)Or really it is I couldn't, no self control. LOL
But you have some good ones too. For me Flirt was better than I expected after hearing not good things about it. And Shutter Island is a good one to mess with your head.
I just checked and I'm only number 14 for Black Magic Sanction.. I guess I can wait. I just hope people don't read slow LOL

I HATED SHUTTER ISLAND!!! I read it a few years ago when it first came out and I forced myself to finish it because it was written by Dennis Lehane. I promised myself I wouldn't make myself do that ever again, no matter who wrote it!

I promised myself I wouldn't make myself do that ever again, no matter who wrote it!I agree it wasn't the best ever, but there were some good things. My book club picked it because the head has an in at parmount and if we would read the book we got free movie tickets. It is not something I would have read on my own, and I did think it was a slow read. The movie does follow the book pretty good, but knowing what was coming I found I was bored in the movie.
I agree with you about reading something just because "someone" wrote it, or at least finishing it. I think the same thing goes for books that get big buzz, I'll try them, but if I don't like them I'll give them up.
Jess wrote: "I just checked and I'm only number 14 for Black Magic Sanction.. I guess I can wait. I just hope people don't read slow LOL"If you were in my area you would be ok, as they ordered 26 copies. Boy that sounds bad, and I am really not trying to rub it in.
Darcy, just how many people does your library serve? My library has just begun to get one bought and one rented copies of the most popular books.
I am in the Twin Cities of MN, and my library system covers by county, and Hennipen county has the 12th largest library in the country. You should see how many copies they order for the really popular authors like Janet Evanovich or JD Robb, those ones usually have over 100 copies, but do get requests that number over 1200. So it is still a wait.
I finished reading
enjoyed it alot.I also finished
on Audio.I'm now reading
and listening to
on Audio.

Nah. My friend brought it from BIG W and I just borrowed it from her. Sigh. I wish I got an ARC!! :D Lol. Don't we all, though?
Jess wrote: "I just checked and I'm only number 14 for Black Magic Sanction.. I guess I can wait. I just hope people don't read slow LOL"Lol. I hate it when people read really, really slowly. Or when you're in line for a library book and somebody doesn;t hand the book in until months after it should have been brought it.

It is just rude!!

Darcy wrote: "Ellen ♥ wrote: Lol. I hate it when people read really, really slowly. And the library keeps thinking that they have lost the book and keep trying to find it. Had it happen to me and I literally do not know where it had gone to when it finally showed up.
Starling wrote: "Darcy wrote: "Ellen ♥ wrote: Lol. I hate it when people read really, really slowly. Or when you're in line for a library book and somebody doesn;t hand the book in until months after it should have..."Someone probably just grabbed it and was reading it on the sly.

I was so mad when there was one book I really wanted to read and people had the book out forever, I came up with a new idea for libraries. Of course it would never work. They should give preference to those readers who read really fast. Therefore, they will get the books first, go through them quickly and then pass them along to others who read at a slower pace. It just makes sense. lol.. my bf laughed at me and told me I was crazy. But I like it.
My library does have a section for bestsellers that you can check out for 10 days and you have to pay $3 to rent them. I do this sometimes if it is a book that I really want to read, but am super far down on the list. The only bad thing is that it isn't all books, just the most popular.

No problem. I had a hard time with it at first too.
Up next for me is
. I really like her other series in Chicago, so I am hoping this one will be just as good.
