i finished noah's compasss. thought the story was boring but loved the writing. even a boring tyler is a good book ;)
i'd have given if 3.5 stars but good reads doesn't do 1/2 stars..lol

Ann, I was a little skeptical when I started (am reading it with the Book Nook Cafe folks on GR) but it is pulling me in! I don't know if you ever read the Blanche series by Barbara Neely (I think Blanche on the Lam is the first in the series) about a Boston domestic who gets drawn into investigating crimes and mysterious happenings. It reminds me of those a bit although it is not a crime novel as far as I know.

Carol:I haven't read a Blanche book yet, but have heard of them! I am going to add The Help to my virtual tbr list for the Kindle if the library holds list looks too long. eeek!!! 331 holds on 53 copies of the hardback; 75 holds on ten copies of the large text and 101 holds on ten audio books.

I just picked up The Help from the library tonight after weeks on the waiting list. It's a seven day checkout, so I'm moving it to the top of my reading list.
