Leslie Being a fan of Sex & the City (the original HBO series), I was a little excited to read this book, thinking it would be a humourous take on the series, and that episode in particular. Although this book would have come in handy during my dating years, i found it rather boring, and a little inconsistent (basically, aside from the guy making a commitment to you, spending most of his free time with you, and making it known publicly that he's "into" you, you're pretty much screwed when it comes to relationships).

Well, same goes for the movie. The movie was irritating and disappointing. It could have been so much better, even though I hated the book. But, leave it to Hollywood (and Drew Barrymore!) to make it anything but original. Same 'ole cheesy, cliched ending.

Unless you're doing the dating scene, or trying to figure out your guy, don't bother with either.

Katherine | 3 comments I thought the book was okay, it got repetitive and tedious after the first couple chapters/scenarios, but I really enjoyed the movie. Although it did not really convey the message in the book, what with the fairytale endings and all, it made me laugh almost throughout the movie and I would definitely watch it again.
