Brandie (commonthistle) | 13 comments Okay, this one is really old--it was my grandma's, and she loaned it to me one summer way back when...I think it was part of a series about these girls who would go on adventures, the (something) girls, maybe? One of them had a lisp. In this particular book, they went up a mountain. That is all I remember--anyone have any ideas?

Kelly | 3 comments the first thing that popped into my head was a book called "Betsy and Tacy Go Over the Big Hill" by Maud Hart Lovelace. Lovelace wrote a whole series about theses girl's and their friend Tibb (who may have had a lisp)... anyway, hopefully this is a help.

rivka The Betsy-Tacy books are indeed marvelous, but I don't think any of the three girls had a lisp. It has been many years since I read them, though . . .

Hmm. They're back in print, and my 13-year-old has a birthday before too long.

rivka And I just bought the Treasury, which apparently is comprised of the first four books.

You know, this site keeps costing me money! ;)

Brandie (commonthistle) | 13 comments I remember the Betsy-Tacy books (just barely) and I'm pretty sure this wasn't them. The girls were, I think, in their teens?

Deb | 48 comments Not Betsy-Tacy. None of the girls had a lisp. The girls age from 5 to 25 in the ten book series.

Could it be one of the "Outdoor Girls" series? Or the "Campfire Girls" series?

Brandie (commonthistle) | 13 comments Eep! Yes, I am pretty sure it is the Campfire Girls!! I will need to go read some to make sure, but that seems right. Thank you!!!

Deb | 48 comments If it is a Campfire Girls book, you might remember their emphasis on "WoHeLo" - work, health, love. There ws also a very similar "Girl Scouts ..." series that you might alos look for.
