Sara Hubbard The author's writing style was different from anything that I had ever read before. It was an interesting read and I found myself relating to her the author on so many levels. There are still very notable differences between men and women, such as a woman's continued expectation to bear the brunt of childrearing and maintaining a home (in most instances). I refuse to comply, but often feel 'frozen' like the author, and feel like I am living a life for others and not myself and feel guilty for feeling such thoughts. I recommend this book to women who feel the same and for those that don't, so that they might understand those of us that do.

Nesovic Laura I have this book in French but I am tying to translate the following quotation in English from Annie Ernaux's original version of A Frozen Woman:
La vie de jeune fille, ça ne s'enterre pas, ni chanson ni folklore là-dessus, ça n'existe pas.
If you can help thanks in advance.
Laura
