Groups bookshelf RSS not working?

I am trying to grab a group's bookshelf RSS feed, but it's not working. If I try to hit the URL in a browser, I get prompted to login. If I try to access via script, I get the following:

SimpleXMLElement Object
(
[body:] => You are being .
)

I can *browse* the group's bookshelf without being logged in with no problem.

Anyone else running into this problem?

Not a private group, no. I can browse the group's books without being logged in.
