Steven (yam655) | 26 comments I was combining a bunch of Wodehouse that arrived from B&N data recently and I noticed this book pulled in from Amazon: Daniele Buetti.

Amazon.com lists P.G. Wodehouse as one of the authors, but WorldCat does not. WorldCat did, however, tell me that it was written in German.

To make things more fun, there's another book by the same title: Daniele Buetti (almost, the first edition has a period in the name). This does not list P.G. Wodehouse as an author, either at GR or at Amazon.com. In addition to identical names, the books have identical covers, and identical GR descriptions. However, WorldCat lists this edition as being in English.

Can someone with knowledge of German books find out if P.G.Wodehouse is a legitimate author of the German book or whether it can be fixed? I'm at a loss.

If he is a legitimate author, the order needs to be cleaned up in any case so that it can be combined with the English edition -- It currently lists P.G. Wodehouse first for the German version. (And a note needs to be added indicating that it is legit, as it isn't quite believable.)

My concern is that since WorldCat doesn't mention it at all, it may just be bogus data in the Amazon data. The cover of the book is very "arty" and you can't tell anything about any of the authors from it.

Thanks!

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Wikipedia, under Daniele Buetti, Books/Monographs:

"Daniele Buetti, Kunstverein Freiburg, Helmhaus Zürich, FRAC Marseille, (Hatje Cantz Verlag), Ostfildern 2003 (texts: Christoph Doswald, Simon Maurer, Dorothea Strauss)"

Looks like the book went with a solo art exhibition that year:

"2003 Kunstverein Freiburg, Freiburg* / Helmhaus, Zürich, Zurich* ...
2004 FRAC, Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain, Marseille* ..."

Hope this helps. I can't imagine Wodehouse having anything to do with it, but I'm no expert & don't know German.

Steven (yam655) | 26 comments I'm way out of my depth. The best I could really do is make it match up with the other edition and combine the two. I could try to do more, but I'm fairly confident that I'd get something wrong. The problem is, I don't even know that the only difference is language. I can trust WorldCat, but I can't check a German-language site which may know.

This is a lot different than much of what I've been doing, which, so far, has been cleaning up the P.G. Wodehouse books.

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments I have done some more research and this is looking like an amazon issue so I am going to change the entry.

The one with P G Wodehouse added can be seen here without his name
