Pretty easy question. The Mortal Instruments, obviously. The story is so rich, the characters (even the minor ones) are so well developed that you can't help but love and care for them. To even compare the two series is blasphemy.

I love both of them ..... They both are awesome n must read !!!! But I love Jace more then Eddie so If I will ave to choose one I'll go for TMI

Definitely MI! I did like Twilight, but the characters got on my nerves. That was not a problem with MI, I loved everything about it! Especially Jace & Will!!

I agree with the majority. The Mortal Instruments are way better. Although I do love Twilight, the characters in TMI are having more character. There is lots more going on and I just adore the fantasy world. And well Jace and the combination of Shadowhunter tattoos and can fight and protect a girl... He just hit my soft spot.

I hated Twilight. I picked up the book one day at the library. Read the first paragraph. And put it back on the self. :D Horrible! :D But. I loved the mortal instruments.

I read the first two books in the Twilight series and enjoyed them, but lost interest in the series after that. I could not wait to read the next book by Clare, every single time. That pretty much says it.

the MI are well written, and in a time where the norm is romantic-whatever - sci-fi; paranormal; vamps; werewolves.... MI isn't stuffed full of 'does he love me?' ' when will he kiss me?' B.S. all genres seem to be watered down by. There are love interests in them, and happily not all are heterosexual, but they aren't the main idea of the series as Twilight is.

I was obsessed with Twilight and re-read the books three or four times however every time I re-read them they got worse and worse. Mortal Instruments on the other hand was just as good if not better every time I read it.
Why I prefer TMI:
1.)I felt like Breaking Dawn was rushed
2.)TMI was more original and better written
3.)TMI keeps surprising me with twists I did not see coming

MI! Clary isn't as annoying as Bella, supporting cast is better, writing is better, and Jace made Edward seem one dimensional to me. After the second Twilight book I didn't even find them all that interesting anyways, but the first 3 MI have been amazing, can't wait for the 4th!

I wonder why this question was even raised. Certainly Twilight can not stand the competition. Mortal Instruments is much much better. Clary is confused sometimes, with her love story, but she is not annoying like Bella. Jace is far better than Edward ( I like Edward but Jace is my no.1) and surely Simon will beat Jacob...:)

Mortal Instruments just rocked my world. At first I read the comments and they all said the TMI was just a rip-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Series but I totally disagree! And yea, I know Edward is like supposed to be hot and everything but Jace is nuclear hot. I mean, it's JACE!

I have to admit I was a Twilight fan before I read TMI. But now I like TMI much better than Twilight and it's more interesting. Definitely TMI!!!

I just think that Twilight has outlived its 15 minutes. I loved it when it first came out, but with all the hype, movies, TV interviews etc. I am over it. I have loved getting into the Mortal Instruments series and I am also a huge fan of the Infernal devices...I was ecstatic when the next book of the MI arrived on my Nook yesterday. Can't wait to read it!

Mortal Instruments of course, even though i never read the Twilight Series. I was going to read them but my friend told me that i would be disappointed and the action is really fast and Mortal Instruments is more in depth and you can visualizes it
