A few years ago I would have states Twilight hands down BUT, I am halfway through the 3rd Mortal Instruments and already it's better.
The love story is more endearing, the story line is better with not only more action but more ... in depth writing.
Plus its funnier. I love a good references to current pop culture. It's amusing.

So yeah. Mortal Instruments for sure.

Definitely Mortal Instruments. It has the hot guys and mysteries without being depressing. Clary may not be my favourite character but shes is a lot more likeable then Bella. I hate the whole "I'm gonna shut down and fall into a deep depression because a guy I just met left me" Its just sad and she only seems like shhe trying to get attention or something. I know people are truely in love with the Twilight series and I have nothing against that. But between them and The Mortal Instruments... I think I'll go with MI :)

TMI is way better than Twilight. I've read the first three books of Twilight but didn't finish the third. TMI is better because it is a mixture of love, friendship and family compared to Twilight's "love".

Is this a trick question? TMI is SOOOOO much better! I'm a big fan of all the TMI (aaand TID) books. The storyline in TMI is so interesting and creative and I, personally, think Twilight becomes a little boring in comparison.

Simon ascends to being a shadphunter YAY he lost his memories of clary and the others, I cried when this happned.

TMI has my vote. It is written well I kept reading it again and again. after the last book i reread it twice it was so good and it shows emotions way better. it also has a better plot.

YAY I'm not the only one:) i found them as less of fantasies and more of actual romance genre books (where the romance is the main plot)
