Caleb I am planning to read Rabbit is Rich and Rabbit at Rest. For those who have read the whole series..Can I read this book on its own or will I just be missing too much without starting from the begging of the Rabbit series? Opinions would be great before I take this book "back home" for my Christmas Break reading.

Dan Wilbur If you're going to skip ANY, skip Rabbit is Rich. Just one man's opinion, but I think Rabbit is Rich is the weakest of all of them. Rabbit at Rest is fantastic, and if you want to read two, you could probably read the first and the fourth together.

Scott Hazen My opinion is read them all if you can...they go pretty quick. I agree with Dan, at Rest is great, but Rabbit is Rich is a book more for time and place. When it came out it was a mirror image of society at the time and kind of a prescient image of the future. Kind of an empty consumerism and search for meaning.

E.C.R. Except for the first book in the series, none of them really stand on their own so to speak. I'll agree that the third is the weakest of the four, but all of the novels are short, so reading them in order shouldn't be too much of a problem. My two cents would be to start from the beginning or not at all.
