Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments I have started so many, and finished so few! Having to juggle titles around to get my book group reading done on time.

The Poet X The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo Started reading this, but think the poetry would make a better listen, so switching to audio.

listening to Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr Cloud Cuckoo Land which will have to be put aside for Poet X

Slogging my way through Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family Hidden Valley Road Inside the Mind of an American Family by Robert Kolker . A good book, but not a fast read.

And will be putting that one on hold to start A Life on Our Planet My Witness Statement and a Vision for the Future by David Attenborough A Life on Our Planet: My Witness Statement and a Vision for the Future for book group.

This is such a dark horse. You start it and wonder what could be so special about this ordinary man, but it sneaks up on you and ends up being such a good book.

Betsy (ebburtis) | 1291 comments Started The Priory of the Orange Tree The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon for my February book group. This is an 800 page tome and fantasy is not my favorite genre. I've been doing the audio version and am 3 hours in and have no idea of what is going on!

Linda | 1693 comments Reading The Vapors A Southern Family, the New York Mob, and the Rise and Fall of Hot Springs, America's Forgotten Capital of Vice by David Hill The Vapors: A Southern Family, the New York Mob, and the Rise and Fall of Hot Springs, America's Forgotten Capital of Vice. This is the second book in about as many weeks where I become more familiar with the gangster Dutch Schultz. The other was in Madam The Biography of Polly Adler, Icon of the Jazz Age by Debby Applegate Madam: The Biography of Polly Adler, Icon of the Jazz Age.
I started listening to Capote's Women A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era.
I'm returning and hoping to finally finish War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy War and Peace. My plan is to read ONE chapter a day and finish at the end of the year. Third time's the charm! I'm also going to update on GoodReads EVERY day to help keep me on track.
