Hasn't grabbed me yet but so many people have recommended it, I'll definitely stick with it.

on audio and hope to read or listen to another of her novels. This is one that I may get to. I am always encouraged to add another book to my TBR list by all the wonderful and positive reviews of this group.

I started
which I got from the downloadable library and it immediately had me hooked. I also started
on audio. It's quite interesting.

Well, that's quite the recommendation! I'm putting it on my list for sure. Thanks
I've just started listening to
by John Lithgow. He is an excellent writer and he is the narrator and doing, of course, an excellent job.I just started reading
which ties in perfectly with an exhibit at UU which opened yesterday on Jewish songwriter's contributions to culture.

Many great reviews for this one - I'm adding it to my TBR as well.

Me too. It gets one of the highest ratings I've seen on Goodreads, 4.3

I just reserved it at the library. I'll should be able to start it on audio late next week. I'm really looking forward to it.
Moving on - finished Henrietta Lacks, and just got
from my library hold list. Need to get moving on that since it's a 14 day loan and it's a bit longer.

The peer pressure was too much. I just added it! :D
Victoria wrote: "Moving on - finished Henrietta Lacks, and just got

. It started a little slowly but went very fast after about the first 100 pages - a very good book!

However, as much as I enjoyed this one, I didn't feel it was one I would recommend to anybody or everybody (like
).

so far it feels like vintage King....I am happy...
I started
over the weekend, since I realized that I've been lax in reading about this topic for far too many months now. It's actually off to a good start, even though I have issues with some of Dr. Sears ideas.I'm starting Nightwoods tonight. This one has been calling me since it's publication so I picked it up when I saw it available at the library.
Susan wrote: "I started
. I'm halfway through and can't put it down."Yay! Sounds awesome. I haven't read King in a long time - too long.
Just started Blackout. I've heard complaints that it was too much of a cliff-hanger, but now the sequel is out, so I guess that won't be too much of a problem. Now - can I finish it before it's due back to the library on Monday? Read, read, read!
I just started it too. I'm about 130 pages in. It is a sad book but I'm hopeful there will be a good outcome for Blade and Swan
Nancy wrote: "I just started it too. I'm about 130 pages in. It is a sad book but I'm hopeful there will be a good outcome for Blade and Swan"It is sad and it's gritty, but I thought overall it was a very good story. FYI, though -- there are some very hard parts in it.
I've just started
. I know a lot of folks who've given up on this series, but I have too much invested in it to give up on it now.
Nancy wrote: "I just started it too. I'm about 130 pages in. It is a sad book but I'm hopeful there will be a good outcome for Blade and Swan"I'm listening to it on audio, but I'm probably about 80 pages in. I like it, but it's going to be tough to get through.

Oh no! Ok, well depending on where things are headed, I'll skip the details of the tough parts. I already did so this morning with a part of the horse training section. I got it so I feel no need to keep horrible images in my head related to it.
I just started Cocktail Hour Under The Tree of Forgetfulness by Alexandra Fuller. I really liked her other book Don't Go To The Dogs Tonight. We'll see how this goes. I'll check back.
I just started FIVE QUARTERS OF THE ORANGE by Joanne Harris to discuss with my Soap Lake Book Club. I read it once before with the Edmonton Book Club, but so far I'm not remembering it.
Susan wrote: "Starting The Dry Grass of August"I'm interested to see your review of it. I hadn't heard about it before, but it looks interesting and has a pretty good rating.

I read it this month and gave it four stars. While not a very long or difficult read, there was an interesting story that was told.

Lisa, there will be LOTS to discuss! I'd love to be a fly on the wall during that group meeting :-)
