earlier in the week, and I'm curious about the follow-up.

And I found I didn't feel much sympathy with her situation after a bit. She came across as spoiled and very willful. That being said, I did find a lot in the book to like, but it is very different than EPL.

Interesting - I'm not hankering to read this one, but if it's available at the library for a $1, I will probably pick it up. Thanks for the info.

So far I am really liking it. Kind of creepy.
Patti wrote: "Started

It has gone from fast read to very interesting. Not sure where this story is going.

, and I also really liked
, also by Harriet Doerr -- if you haven't read that one also, I highly recommend it.
I have just begun
today and though I'm only 80 pages into it, I really like the smooth prose and interesting characters.

, and it's actually what made me interested in reading
, which I am enjoying. Have you read any of her other books you can recommend? I'm planning to read some more of her writing.

I'm going to get
on audio from the library since it's available.
I just started
on audio, and I'm picking up
and
from the library tonight. I can't wait to start reading
!

Sera wrote: "I started

I started
on audio on Friday, going great so far. And started reading
today, haven't read a good John Grisham in a while and I heard that this one is reall good. I hope so....

Linda, I actually liked this one, but I'm listening to
and it's only so-so for me thus far.
Sera wrote: "Linda, I actually liked this one, but I'm listening to

I'll keep you posted. So far it is only slightly dull; however, I'm hoping that it picks up soon. I really didn't want to know the history of marriage but there it was.... ha ha
Sera wrote: "I'll keep you posted. So far it is only slightly dull; however, I'm hoping that it picks up soon. I really didn't want to know the history of marriage..."Yep! That's pretty much what it is. Very interesting in some ways, but not what I had expected either.
I'm listening to
by Gish Jen and it's wonderful. I think it is the same narrator that read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and she's very good.
I got lucky yesterday and was able to get several library ebooks, which were just shelved. I love logging on the the Maryland Consortium the day they release new books. So, I will be starting:
I'm also reading
. I'm reading this during my free hour sessions at B&N. I'm also reading an oldie
for one of my F2F book clubs.
I'm working my way through the pile of ARCs that's accumulated on my bookcase. I just started The Lost Angel, by Javier Sierra.
I've started
by Kate Christensen. I think I have one of her others on my TBR stack but this is for my F2F group in August. I am reading it on the iPad after getting it out of the downloadable library. Unfortunately I only have a day left on it and I won't finish it so I'm not sure what I do then.
So which day was it? I wonder if New Hampshire is the same. Lisa wrote: "I got lucky yesterday and was able to get several library ebooks, which were just shelved. I love logging on the the Maryland Consortium the day they release new books. So, I will be starting:

@BetsyThe Maryland Consortium usually adds new books the last week of the month. I normally check the site several times a week, but look a couple of times a day the last week of the month.
I just started
, by Scott Douglas. Although I'm a library aide and not an official librarian, many of his 'dispatches' sound like a day at our library too :-)
Just heard about My Faraway One: Selected letters of Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stiegletz by Sarah Greenough. I heard the review on NPR (podcast), immediately downloaded a sample to my iPad. Sat in the car reading and almost missed an appointment!!! I'm only a few pages in but so far, it is riveting. That is the problem with eReaders .... instant gratification!
LynnB wrote: "I've just started
which I've had only list for awhile."I LOVED that book, found it very hard to put down. I keep recommending it, and the rest of the series, to friends, and I haven't heard anything bad from anyone yet!
Started
. It's quick reading so far, which is good since I only have 3 days before it disappears off my Nook. I'm still working on
.
Betsy wrote: "I'm reading
(The Snowman) by Jo Nesbo on my iPad and I can hardly put it down."I'm also reading a Jo Nesbo, The Devils Star. Also unput-downable!
