What book did you just start?

I have been hearing a lot of mixed things about both of these books, yet I am interested in reading both of them and am on hold to get the second one on my nook through the library.

I loved this book but I've been waiting for someone else to read it because the ending is open for interpretation and I like to hear another reader's take on it.

I think I read that so many people here liked it that I added it to my TBR list. I'll keep you posted. Maybe we'll have to have a separate thread so we don't spoil it for others.

The story (book 1) starts in Kenya in 1957, shortly before Kenya's independence from Britain, and follows the lives of three women from very different backgrounds who first meet and become best friends while in boarding school. I loved Blood Sisters and am looking forward to seeing where the women's lives have taken them in the second book. Kenya, itself, is almost another character, as well, and the country and it's wildlife really come alive.

This looks like a great series. I am going to put it on my to read list. Thanks Nancy.

One reason that I'm reading it now is that in three weeks I will be going on a Jane Austen walking tour in England for a week. We will be staying the the manor house that was Austen's inspiration for Mansfield Park and visiting her home in Chawton as well as visiting her grave in Winchester Cathedral. I'm so excited I could just about burst!

I have started my June book club read....

He already has my attention. Good writer.

Nice, Lynn. I am eager to start this series but don't know where to fit it in :) I hope that you enjoy it.

I heard an interview with the author and I thought it was a little odd when the interviewer asked if she had a crush on her main character, Jackson Brodie like Dorothy Sayers reputedly did on Peter Whimsey. Then I read the book and now I have a crush on Jackson Brodie.

I'm hoping this is a good series, but we'll see!

I'll definitely read at least one more book in the series. I'm just going by one review I read of (I think) the 3rd book. I've had series that I liked even though further books weren't as good as the first one or two.

I'm still wait-listed for TPW at the library and you've chosen another one, the Pickard book, that I have been eager to read. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback on both of these.

I'm working on

Cathy bookcover:Still Missing] was my favorite books last year. I listened to it audio and it was very intense. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

I read this in just about one sitting. It is hard to put down.

I know! It is a powerful piece of work. I'm so pleased to hear that you were gripped by this read like I was. I can't wait to read

Yay! More good feedback from another book that I am very eager to read.

I was surprised when I read the first one-very witty!!!
