Kelley Anne | 1619 comments How in the world do we not have a discussion started for J R Ward?!? Guess it's time to start one!

I was actually just looking for the discussion because I wanted to tell all of you audio book fans that Covet is supposed to be released on audible.com on Monday! I'm excited for it!

Inkspeckle | 17 comments You know, I have been wondering the same thing. The ongoing saga that is the BDB is too incredible not to discuss!
I've recently discovered her--and I've been devouring every book in the series. Now I am almost finished with Lover Avenged and the twists have me tied up in knots!
I haven't read Covet yet. Let me know if it's worth buying? Although, I'm sure it will be. ;)

message 3: by Mel (new)

Mel (mel_b) | 1384 comments Covet is great. It's totally different from the BDB but it's great in its own way. Totally worth the buy IMO.

message 4: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments What I loved about Covet was that if you read BDB, there were all sorts of little nuggets you would get, but if didn't read that series it didn't matter. Kind of like the easter eggs in dvds.

I agree 100% I loved it!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I haven't read Covet yet (ducking). But I will. But when I see JR Ward or BDB, I have to participate in the discussion. I am completely addicted!

And let me tell you, it wouldn't feel like a real discussion without you!

message 11: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments I like the BDB series and I thought Covet was okay in comparison to BDB.

Sometimes I get tired of the discussions though. There are a lot of other series I like and sometimes I think people harp too much on this one series.

message 12: by Jess (new)

Jess I personally cannot get enough of the BDB. My favourite books of all time.

message 13: by Trinitymarie (new)

Trinitymarie | 1 comments Its funny I read Lover Avenged first; as I recently discovered BDB, back in October, and got hooked to their world and had to order the first six in the series.

message 14: by Anna (new)

Anna (aknas22) | 349 comments I have never read a J.R. Ward book but am planning to get to them soon. A lot of people in this group seem to like them and I've gotten really curious about them.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Anna wrote: "I have never read a J.R. Ward book but am planning to get to them soon. A lot of people in this group seem to like them and I've gotten really curious about them."

I would really recommend starting at the beginning with book 1, Dark Lover . It lays the foundation for the rest of the books.

message 16: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments For this series it is much better to read in order. There are so many little things that are planted along the way.

I didn't mean to offend you or anyone else.. going back and looking at what I said I realized I sounded really bitchy LOL.

I'm just one of those people who gets obsessed about a series, like I did with BDB, I read them all fast, I talk about them constantly and then something else catches my attention and off I go lol.

It is a really good series and I'm glad people have an interest in it because that helps promote the genre. :)

That is sooooooooooo me. For the longest time I wouldn't read ANYTHING that wasn't PNR. Then, Christine Feehan snuck up on me with Ghostwalkers and I loved the edginess of the men. So of course I then had to read Lora Leigh's TemptingSEALs, and then I most certainly had to read Cindy Gerard's Bodyguards and BOIs. From there it was a given that I would read Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters, then it would have been blasphemous to not read Marliss Melton's series.

Christina Dodd was twittering about her book, Castles in the Air so I decided to give that a try and was sucked into the historical genre like dust up my Dyson. I next grabbed Julie Garwood and have been reading anything I can get my hands on by her. After finishing her Highlanders, I went in search of anything Highlander I could find and discovered Mary Wine's In Bed With A Stranger which I LOVED, and that led me to her Let Me Love You which is a western romance and so....

You get the picture. While I'm not obsessing about the Brotherhood as a whole, I still have vivid fantasies about Z, often times wondering what he might look like in a kilt. ROFL!

Just thinking about that made me laugh. Although I think it would be a cold day in hell before Z would let that happen, unless blinked her big eyes are him.

Everything I read, no matter the genre, I always think of Z. *sigh* But I'm not obsessed at all. *giggles*

Dehvotion, I have an obsessive personality. It comes out in less destructive ways, like my book addiction, and how I get sucked into a certain author and have to read all their books, or a certain genre or series. So you're not alone.

All the brothers would look scrumptious in a kilt. I could see Vishous in his kilt, with a claymore in one hand, ice blue eyes menacing. Sigh!!!!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Hey, I'm right there in the gutter with you. I can't get the image of JM in his leather jacket with no shirt, jeans slightly unbuttoned. (Loud THUD as Danielle hits the floor).

Ehehehehe...

Oh Lover Awakened did rather well. I'm disappointed though, why didn't it win 'best book with a grey/light blue/silverish colour'-award?

JM... *sigh*
I'd give my right arm for JM to be drunk out of his head and mouth the words "I want to f*ck you" to me... *sigh*
Okay, I think I won 'most gutter- thoughtly sister' award. *beams*

Jess | 3721 comments Someone brought to my attention that there is a website called Project Paranormal and it interviewed various authors in the paranomral genre. I originally was watching it for Charlaine Harris, and now I see that there was also an interview with JR Ward talking about the BDB if anyone wants to check it out.

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed listening to JR Ward talk about her books. She is very interesting to listen to.

message 42: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3721 comments She's very passionate when she talks about her series, and I thought it was interesting that she spoke about her characters as if they were real people, especially when she said she doesn't get along with Vishous lol. I thought that was funny.

I'm writing a book and honestly, the characters DO become real to you. You become protective, they hurt you, ... it's really odd but at the same time, calming.

message 44: by Amber (new)

Amber (peachystateofmind) | 16 comments I listened to her and then Hamilton on her Anita Blake series. Of the two, I could listen to Ward all day but Hamilton just got on my nerves. I love the books but um, just not the interview.

I agree about Hamilton!! She sounds... I'm not sure the word to use. When she started going on and on about how she started the genre, I just got annoyed and flipped back to Harris and Ward who were pleasant to listen to!!

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I know what you guys are talking about with LKH. I used to read her blog every day, but lately when I find the time to flip over there I end up talking to myself saying "Really?" in a sarcastic tone. So for now have given it up.

message 50: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I would probably say it would be on JR Ward's website. I know she usually puts them up there.
