Christine (ebnerlake) They just walk out! And touch the door that I then have to touch! Hey dirty, I see you!! Wash your skank hands!

Reads with Scotch And that Christine is why i use public "bushes" instead.

Sarah (songgirl7) I hate it when people just sort of wiggle their fingers under the faucet. You need SOAP, people! That's why I carry the antibacterial gel around with me. Yilch.

Reads with Scotch The wiggle fingers are worse then the non-washers. Now not only is the door dirty, but it is wet too. That just makes it even grosser.

These are some of the reason I avoid public restrooms at all cost. They are repulsive. I will hold it until I am in serious danger of hurting myself. Just hoping that I will be able to get to a friendly bathroom.

One time I had to go so bad it was either stop or dirty myself. I went into a restrant, took a look and walked out. I went two more streets and stopped at a house. Asked to use their facilities and offered them $40 for the strange inconvenience. The old guy looked dumbfounded, and looked as if he could not comprehend why there was a man standing at his door asking to use the bathroom. The money greased the wheels and after some brief deliberation with his wife I was allowed in to go poopie. He was sitting on the couch with a gun when I left?

Sarah (songgirl7) Wow. I wouldn't let a stranger poo in my house for $400, much less for $40. That story is hilarious. I do hope you clogged the toilet. Because that would be perfect.

Reads with Scotch People in Alaska look out for one another, even when it is an odd request. And they are armed, so you know, an armed society is a polite society.

Sarah (songgirl7) I do use soap and water. I use the antibacterial gel after leaving the bathroom, having just touched the germy door with my freshly washed hands.

Christine (ebnerlake) I have to use the public restroom where I work or else I can't pee for 8.5 hours. :-( No peeing makes Christine a sad girl.

Tesse (hooksinmyhead) Okay, I am here to add a new dimension to the ick factor.

Before I had my last job as an indie record store goddess (just let me have the title, people) like many struggling students I worked in restaurants.

To be succinct rather than graphic: What people do (or don't do) in public restrooms is what they do at work.

AND I HATE THAT! WASH YOUR FUCKING HANDS!
THOROUGHLY AND WITH SOAP AND DON'T DRY THEM ON YOUR GROTTY PANTS!

Even if it's just a pretence of cleanliness it is one that I would rather people participate in than not.

Brigid ✩ eew. i hate when people don't wash their hands!!! sooo gross. it only takes like two seconds, so just do it!

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Sarah, I'd rather err on the side of cleanliness.

Sarah (songgirl7) Hmm, I'm not sure. I wash my hands a lot, but I let my dog lick my face. I don't need to have a tidy house, but it needs to be clean. I'm not grossed out by my own germs, but I'm grossed out by other people's.

EDIT: I have been cyber-hanging out with Nick for too long, and my spelling is starting to suffer.

Christine (ebnerlake) I'm not really a germophobe at all--I'll share food and drinks with almost anyone. And chapstick..I'm a chapstick sharer. But not washing your hands is just weird. Especially when people can see you. If you wanna be gross and spread your potty germs around your house, that's your business.

Sarah (songgirl7)

;)

Sally (mrsnolte) | -1 comments I'm pretty far below zero, germs don't really freak me out at all. I wash my hands all the time because I divide my time between
work with the public to prepare drinks
and
public school where people probably cough and sneeze on every surface and I can't afford the time to get sick.
But I can't say that thoughts of "eww gross" or mental images of bacteria disrupt my daily life. I'm too busy hating kitchen appliances.

Tesse (hooksinmyhead) I just checked back in and I am blushing.

I hate blushing! Aaarrgghhh!

Those were very fond days for me and it was a bit like High Fidelity at time, that Captain Beefheart record actually came from my store!

Asia I absolutely agree with this topic, and I never really go to public washrooms unless I had to really go.
