Allison This series has been going on for awhile, and as of yet I haven't seen any announcements for a new book...who thinks this will be the last of the series?

Caitlín K L.A. Meyer has indicated that there will be at least one more book in the series, because the last book will supposedly be titled something along the lines of She Will Play the Wild Rover No More. So there's gotta be at least a 9th book.

Junita OMG!! i just can't wait un-tell the book comes out! i love Jacky Faber, and i love everything about her, and i will be sad if the books stop. <----they just can't! L.A. Meyer is THE best book writer there is and there is no question about it. I love him and his story's and i would die if they were to stop, SO KEEP ON WRITING!

Allison Good to know. Thanks for the heads up, Ink Mage!

Andrea Good Grief, i hope there are more! I am going to be terribly sad once Jacky finally settles down. What an adventure she's taken us all on. haha

Heather Shaw As happy as I am for this series to keep going, I am getting a little exasperated in not allowing Jacky to marry Jamie. I'm getting a little tired of the star crossed lovers bit, and it is getting rather old on me (especially by Rapture of the Deep). I know that once she does marry, that is probably going to be the end of the series, for that is where a lot of the tension in the story lies, just by looking at how the other books have handled that whole situation.

Honestly, I don't think this series could go much more beyond 1-3 books, for by then the story lines would have become too repetitive and worn out. The story lines are already getting a little threadbare as it is, due to overuse.

I am a fan, don't get me wrong, but a greater fan of a well written, creative, well stitched together story, and the things I mentioned above, are starting to get on my nerves. I love an author who knows when it is time to stop a series, before the story becomes old, stale, boring, and predictable. For it is ok to end on a bittersweet note, having the audience wanting more, than fulfilling everything that they desire, for then it will end in a flat note and leaving a taste in the reader's mouth that is less than desired. For after reading, it should be the goal of the author to give their readers something to digest over an extended period, like a full meal, and not be like cotton candy, there, then instantly gone.

Haley Newton its not the last.
there are atleast two more books after this!

Karen For those readers who are frustrated with the unfulfillment of a relationship between Jacky and Jaimy, we have to remember that Jacky Faber, for all of the life she has lived, is still very young. I can't see her ever settleing down, and certainly not with Jaimy---unless he starts showing a little spunk to match her own, kind of like we glimpsed in book 5 (Missippi Jack.) Speaking of that book, I really liked the chemistry between Jacky and Captain Lord Richard Allen. I was so glad to see him show up again in book 7 (Rapture), although in a limited way. I hope he has a role to play in book 8 (Wake of Lorelei)

Kalyn I totally agree! I really can't see Jacky marrying Jaimy because he really isn't like her. I also agree that I can't see Jacky actually settleing down because she loves adventure too much and she can't stay put for very long. The Bloody Jack series is my favorite, and I have never laughed so hard in my life after reading one of L.A. Meyer's books. I was frusterated after Jacky's attempts of marriage were foiled ONCE AGAIN in ROTD. It is getting frusterating, and if Meyer is going to continue the series after Wake of Lorelei (which I hope he does!) he should mix things up a bit. Make it fresh and new!
