I know it's very good and funny. I've seen the tv ep of Jeeves and Wooster based on this novel. I have it here, looking at me, but havn't started it yet.
I've read Plum Pie and Joy in the Morning. There are quite a few Jeeves stories both full novels and collections of short stories.
I'd checked out from my local library the entire DVD collection of every season of the BBC television series "Jeeves and Wooster" and watched them all before I read my first Wodehouse Jeeves story. So I've been comparing plots in the books to the tv series. Some are really accurate, some they took some liberties with obviously or they combined plots from a couple stories into one episode. One of the funniest episodes of the tv series, about the cow catcher creamer, is based on the book, The Code of the Woosters. So far, the books I've read were really good. Perhaps slow in places simply because the victorian bachelor lifestyle (with a valet) we aren't used to reading about but it's always good fun to read about Bertie Wooster getting into trouble or bailing his friends out of trouble (frequently by having to get someone unengaged lol) and Jeeves always comes to the rescue. I'm sure I'll like this book based on having read the others and knowing what the episode looked like based on the book, so now I just need to find time to read this one. (What took me the longest time was finding an affordable used copy to read as my library didn't have it.)
